Ok this has been bugging me and I been doing google searchs like there is no end :( so I'm frustrated and need some help.

My Question is: on my 01 GA GT when I open it up, the car surges almost like a Bucking motion and the RPM's go into the 5K mark. Its been doing it also when I'm at a Steady 2500 RPM to 3,000RPM going up hill.

Now I do have a K&N filter install, just the factory one. Could the oil have gotten onto the MAF? Also I was thinking it could be the TPS? changed the TPS today seems better .. the old one seemed wore out was very lose.

Any Help would be awesome guys!

Could also be the transmission wearing out. How many miles on the car?

125,589 KM's = 78,019 miles on the car so its pretty low on the miles.

Is the SES light on at all? Might be either a bad misfire, or bad injector possibly.

no SES light .. nothing for warning lights come on at all. well if its a bad injector that is easy to fix but a transmission thats a whole different ball game LOL!!!

never liked k&n with our cars. seems to be way over oiled off the shelf. your on the right track other than the tps being the issue normally at idle. if you can see a bunch of debris on the maf elements than thats the most likely the prob.

Ok I might have to change that filtre to a stock one ... and see if it improves the situation .. I've heard that from another person that these cars don't like the K&N filtre and the oil in it.

If it was a sensor regulating AFR, an SES light would be triggered.

I had the drop in K&N filter for four months, never had an issue before getting an intake.

I sure am puzzled over it LOL!!! I'll clean the MAF sensor and see if that helps

If this is truely a transmission issue, then no SES light would be coming on.

Well maybe I'll get the Transmission Fuild and filter changed and a go over at the transmission shop also.

If the trans has never been serviced in its lifetime, don't change all the fluid! Just swap out the filter, and reuse most of the old fluid, all that crud is holding it together. Free it all up, and it might make the problem worse.

also the maf seeing less air go by because of trash on it may not be enough to set a light but still be enough to see less of a load and give you shi tty drivability.

Most parts stores sell MAF cleaner, pick up a can, it couldn't hurt. They go for $7 a can.
