My rear speakers are blown and sound like crap. They vibrate and rattle alot. I went to 2001 Audio Video and the guy said that I couldn't replace them due to the Monsoon Amp. Is this true? I really need these replaced ASAP!

Never return to that shop again. They're idiots.

Tons of threads about this in the audio section so I'd recommend a search for what works well and how to do it.

No its just the stock Monsoon. The Kid likes to play rock music loud through his blackberry. When its plugged in you can have not even one full bar showing on the HU screen and it will be blasting. One speaker went first then the other.

You might be able to use a forwarding company. We have this store right across the border from us, and we ship everything to them. They charge five bucks

try something like
http://www.usamail1.com/
http://yourusaaddress.com/
I don't know how reliable these are. You might want to check into it

or the best would be to ship to someone on the forum in the states, and then get them to send it to you

E-Bay has good replacement Monsoon speakers. I bought the set I have in the GA now from there.

The aftermarket radio will not blow speakers using the stock monsoon amp, well, unless you totally abuse the sh*t out of them. I know your from Canada, but I do have a pair of kenwood 6x9s that I haven't used in a year that do work with the monsoon setup. pm me if you'd like, i'm looking to get rid of these for a low price.

I would be interested but I just want a direct swap. I know with aftermarkets you have to tap into wiring or something like that.

I think it would be a direct swap since they have already been in and installed before, but I don't know for a fact, I had audio shop install them a while back when I had no idea how to do anything audio related.

Not hard at all..... 2wires go to the rear,,,,, the clip has a pos and a neg.... connect that to your new 6x9's and enjoy. wouldnt buy what blew before. buy what wont blow again.! pretty sure my 2 yr old would be capable of wiring!

The factory rear speakers have 4 wires each.
Two for the low end and two for the high end.
Here is a link to the schematics for my 2003 GAGT (http://pages.videotron.com/pauljp/2003GAGTrearSpeakers.gif).
Most aftermarket speakers have only 2 wires.
This is why it is difficult to replace without rewiring.

Not sure what your gonna pay for factory replacements but you can get a set of Infinity Reference series 6 X 9's for like 100 bucks and you'll thank me in the morning lol
