While I have to admit the STOCK monsoon deck in my 02 Grand Am is quite impressive for stock. For the first time in years I started playing with the adjustments and must ask what the hell is the point in the speed volume feature? The car speeds up the volume gets louder. Slow the car down and the volume gets lower. I jdon't get the reasoning?? What a pointless feature

maybe for road noise or something like if u had the windows rolled down and you get going fast, it compensates for all that wind

bingo.

the ga wasnt known for its quiet interior. as you speed up (highway speeds) you get more noise in the cabin.. so the speed volume (scv if i rmbr correctly) compensates by adjusting the volume ..louder. Soon as you hit an off ramp and slow down.. it will lower the volume..

With my aftermarket headunit.. i find i have to turn up the volume on the highway.. then when i come to an abrupt stop.. i have to lower it down cause then its just too loud. I miss that feature.

I turned off that SCV mode as well. Hell, I turned it off after a few days of first owning my GA.

I miss the SCV.... when I come to a stop after driving 60 with my windows down, my music is a little loud lol

IIRC, GM did it with a lot of the vehicles, not just the GA...

My 99 Blazer had it too

I put mine on the lowest setting that it still compensates on in winter when I have the windows up to make up for the road noise and in summer I put it all the way up because I usally have the windows down. It actually makes a big difference, if you adjust it at 65 mph you will notice the difference a lot.

far from pointless.
never saw it in gm commercials though.
i think i saw a mitsu eclipse commercial saying they have the same feature.
has to be a delphi thing.

My 02 Focus has it too, so its not just a GM thing.
