yea i was fooling around with my intake today, i got a 2.4 liter so its different than the GT's and the long tube that brings air to the box and tampered with a little bit, i took out that piece that runs behind the headlight, and i took off the elbow piece right b4 it gets to the box, and i turned on my car and gave it a rev and damn, it sounds different! a lot deeper sound now, i was very surprised in the results! anyone else done this before? and do u think that its aight that i keep that elbow piece out?

Sounds like youve got your filter right next to your engine, which sucks i na lot of hot air, which isnt good. but, gotta love the sound right? I also have a 2.4, and I started my intake work like you did. Then I got an AEM pipe from the TB to the filter. During the summer I install a Cold air extension down into the fender, and that only makes the sound deeper. Gotta love it!

is it bad to suck in all that hot air? like will it do any damage? i dont really see the difference in the air from how it used to be, what do u think i should do?

It wont do any damage, but youll lose a lot of power (still better than stock im sure though!). Check into the AEM pipe that I have (as well as many others). Im VERY satisfied with it. Go to http://www.highrevmotorsports.com for info. Also, click the link below for a pick of my engine bay. Youll see the pipe.

yea i saw how u had that set up thats really nice, nice car to by the way, but anyway i really wasnt lookin to get an intake system or really anything with performance, im goin for mainly looks, but if i get some extra money i might consider it but right now i dont thnk it will happen for a while. So what do u think i should do for the time being, i may not even get an intake i dunno yet, but i was thinkin bout gettin a K&N dropin. any advice for intake mods that are cheap? lol

Id take a cone and slap it on there (like 40 bucks tops). Keep the "S Tube" and attach the cone to the end of it. Its easy, cheap, and will give you performance, and sound gains.

Leave everything in place cept for the top of the airbox. Then, you just clamp a cone filter to the end of the tube that attaches to the top of the airbox. Thanks for the compliments on the car btw!!!
