This is the 3rd or 4th place that does exhaust near me that said 2.5" piping wouldn't fit. he said best bet to make it louder is get a flowmaster 80 muffler (have some magnaflow on now) but he said i could get them for 40 bucks somewhere, where do you guys get your flowmasters from?

I have an FM 80 muffler, they aren't any louder than the Magnaflow you have. Stick with the Magnaflow.

But seriously, your town's muffler shops are filled with lazy dumbasses. It's a shame you don't live near me, the Mieneke near my house does pretty much anything you want. I know they'd charge $165 for 2.5" pipping.

$250 is kinda high. You might have to go for that if nobody else wants to.

I want mine to be a little louder then it is with magnaflow and high flow cat, he said that 2.5" wouldn't make a difference..... piping WOULD make it louder right?

Wait, you just want to be louder? No, it's not worth it. If that's just the case, save your money.

Of course what else is exhaust used for we all know its for making noise and getting attention from random people. lol

Like has been said, those places are just lazy. Are they even putting the car on a lift and checking it out, or just flat out saying no? You can fit 2.5" piping in there easily. If you are really good you can actually fit 2.75".

The main problem those "muffler shops" have is the bend that goes over the rear axle, right between the body and sway bar to be exact.

I've had a shop honestly tell me that none of their guys could make the bend without it rattling. I just laughed and left, they did not take kind to that lol

You know, you cold just get a Pacesetter exhaust (which uses 2.5" piping) and call it a day. It's a totally bolt-on solution. If you don't like the muffler sound that comes with it, that's easy to change out at a later time. The system may corrode quickly if you live in the rust belt (it's mild steel pipe), but it's so cheap, who cares?

Even better - get the Pacesetter kit and then let the nicest one who said 'no' install it for just labor money. Parts/pipe is where the profit is for most shops. Just a thought...

Yep. Mieneke did all my muffler work.

I agree 100% with mfuller and WidbyJ being that I have a Pacesetter and they are correct.
