Um, it makes a grinding noise when I push the button.

I took the seat off and unplugged everything and looked over the bottom of it and it all seems fine.

I put everything back together and even wiped off the grim/dust/gunk and it still is making that grinding noise. The seat is positioned right, but still . . .

Can you buy new motors for these things or do you have to buy a whole new seat?

Or is it even the motor? O_o

Check the part number for the motor here.....

Check gmpartsdirect, ebay, junkyard etc for a decent price

you guys all short or what???? lol

i can't have mine anything but all the way down and have any hope of taking a drink of anything...well unless i open the roof !!
**besides when i first got it and was messing with it, i sat down and it creaked which i took as a fat joke from the car, and figured i'd better bottom it out on the rails so i didn't end up falling over sideways while turning a corner and snapping the seat. it'd be my luck**

I would most likely just take the whole part out motor/gear and every excluding the seat and then you can just replace the whole thing

How much can you get the motor and gear for?

probably dirt cheap $10-20. Maybe even free. The junkyard is pretty laid back and is not very well run, although they do have several grand am's in stock, and i know for a fact nobody has taken any of the seats. I dont have paypal right now, because I am in the middle of moving and I dont have a permanent address. I don't know if you want to do a money order, but if you do I can head out there monday to get it and then ship it out. I would provide a tracking number as well.

Can you JUST replace the motor. The thing looked pinned in there pretty good. But yeah, let me know.

Shipping is to 40422.

if you need a motor let me know.

I need a motor, and I just read that the other guy doesn't have paypal. ;crap

Let me know how much, 40422.

I wouldn't mind a money order but it'd take me an hour to get to the nearest Kroger/Wal-Mart.

You don't need the motor, the worm gear inside the motor is metal.

This is the part that you need. On the smaller end there is a plastic gear(Not shown in the picture)

Its not the easyest thing to get out either, its held in by two roll pins. To get the roll pins out the tracks have to come off the seat. Its beens years ago since I have done this but I know I had to weld something back together, just can't remember what.
