Removing SE side ribs

I was just wondering for those of you who may have done this, how do you go about removing the ribs on a 99 SE? I was thinking I may want to do this. Are they just stuck on? I also heard that there is a hole in the front fender when the rib is removed from the side. Is this true? If so, what do you do with that? Anyone who has done this and would like to share some info, please do. Do you think it looks good? What did you do to the bumpers, do they stay the same, and if so, how does that look without the other ribs?
