I just did a front brake job on my daughter's 99 Grand Am. Had the rotors turned, used rebuilt calipers, and new mid-level ceramic pads from NAPA. Now I get a thumping sound from the right front wheel when I apply the brakes. It is more pronounced the harder the brakes are applied, and it sounds as if it thumps every wheel rotation. I took the caliper back off and looked for any loose clips or misaligned pads, but it all looks normal. The pads are correct inside to outside (the one with the wear indicator is inside), all clips are on, and all attachment points are torqued to spec. There were no sounds before the work. Is it possibly a bad caliper?
