No u can't. 3400 is. A 60* v6 and 3800 is a 90*

That's because there really no such thing as a SEARCH button anymore...

Also in the wrong section... this has nothing to do with body modifications.

This should be in technical questions, or all go.

Well your avatar is that of a relatively crappy photochop done by a member on here years ago, and you asked one of the most common/stupidest questions we get on here or the other GA website.
Therefore...

why would you want to replace the large ports of the 3x00 aluminum heads for the tiny cast iron ports of the 3800 heads?

i owned a 3800 powered car and had both heads side by side and it's amazing how much better designed the 3x00 is

^This too. 3800's suck. The 3400 is a much more modern design. Plus a 60 degree V6 has better natural balance and harmonics than a 90 degree v6.

Well if you know how to use google search for the avatar, how come you can't for the head question, or even used the search bar on this site first. Then you don't come off as that annoying noobie that pisses off everyone in his first thread.

senser you have nothing i would do a 3500 top end swap. the prices should be about the same for 3500 heads intakes as it would be for a 99+ 3400 heads and intakes

I'd say I tried to teach you how to use search. Maybe you'll use it next time before making a new thread, and at that point, I'll have taught you a lesson.

And as has been stated, 3500 heads with a 3500 LIM and UIM. To get the most out of it, get the manifolds ported. The 3400 manifolds have the worst flow, but the best design, the 3500 manifolds have the best flow stock, but the 3400 manifold ported is the best flow due to a better design.

Who's the noob? 3400 manifolds do not have the worst flow. Old style 3100 manifolds do. The 2000+ 3400 manifolds have pretty good flow. Just not as good as the 3500 manifolds when paired with their corresponding heads, in a stock vs stock comparison.

He will have to do more modifications to use the 3500 upper intake though. I would use 3500 heads and lower with a 2000+ 3400 upper.

LA1/LX9 hybrid FTW.

Also, silly n00b. Lurk moar.

I meant it had the worst flow STOCK and if you'd kept reading I said that it had the best, most even flow once ported. And anyways, I was only comparing 3400 vs. 3500, not including every other 60* V6 there is.
