Any easy fix? Just snapped in half while i was literally on top of the engine trying take off the lower heater hose after the lower heater hose busted causing a huge dexcool puddle under my car and a nice overheating session :amraam:

Yeah, it's only like a 1/16" pvc tube or something. I've fixed them before by splicing with a very small piece of rubber hose. It will fit right over the tubing and stay fairly tight, but you can also put a little superglue or something on it to hold if you want. It shouldn't cause any vacuum leak after that. That hose supplies vacuum to the HVAC controls inside the car too, so it's not critical.

Where can i find rubber hose that small? Also GM decided to place the lower heater hose in a really bad spot! **** the damn designer of the GA lol

auto parts store probably. Don't remember where I got mine at. Just measure the outside of the gray tube, then go in and ask them for some rubber hose with that size inside diameter. ;)

maybe even bring the other end that you can remove from the intake plenum with you so you can find the right size vacuum line to splice the 2 back together

I had that same issue w/ the vacuum hose David. I got a small piece from AutoZone. I feel you pain on the lower radiator hose. W/ the belt coming down from the SC pulley, it was rubbing a hole into the hose, so I had to trim it and pull it back a bit w/ some zipties to keep it from happening again. Getting to the very bottom clamp on and off is a biatch...

He's talking about the heater hose in back, not the radiator hose. ;)

ive snaped that hose like 4 times between my 2 GAs its a simple fix, that hose goes into the fues box. u have to remove the box pop it open and u will see the end of the hose just take it off of the inside of the fues box plug the new one in and run it back to the mainfold. for the hose just goto the local JY and get it, i got it for 1.50 cant beat that. good luck

Can anyone confirm where the HVAC vacuum line goes? Does it really go in the fuse box? Where does it go to?

It goes into the cabin, it's integrated into the harness.

I believe that goes thru the big firewall grommet on the firewall behind/under the fuse box into interior, iirc

I need to find out the part number for that harness than I guess. Any info y'all may have would be greatly appreciated

It doesn't go into the fuse box. It goes through the big wire harness behind the fuse box into the cabin of the car. It hooks to the back of the HVAC control switch and provides vacuum to control the shutters that divert air to different areas inside the car. You don't need a part number for the harness (don't know if there even is one). You don't have to replace the whole thing if you break the tube. You just patch the tube.

I used vaccuum gauge hose to replace mine when it snapped, worked well.

To fix or to replace? Also where did you get it?

Any auto store that sells gauges has the hose. I cut a small piece off a long line, then fit it over one end of the tube and over the other. Heres what the line i used looks like.
