But its in drive and the rpm's aren't affected by it, they are where they should be. Also, if i take it on a longer drive it heats up faster and over heats? I'm lost and don't know where to start? Any help would be nice.

Water pump problem maybe? Or a bad power steering pump could make that noise and put a load on the engine. Hard to say. Not enough info.

it's not my steering pump, that would wine when turning, this is when i step on the gas hard.

Uh, no... if they are wearing out or have air in the lines, they will whine all the time and get louder as well when you step on the gas because the pump is spinning faster. Not just when you are turning. Don't ask me how I know...

But regardless I doubt it would put enough load on the engine to make it over heat. Anyway, still not enough info to give you a diagnosis. If you can't come up with more symptoms than that, better take it to the mechanic.
