General Motors has Milan Dragway rented out in late September and my GA gets to attend! My question is, are there any tips you fellow GA'ers could share to shave my ET's? I'm referring to launch RPM, Icing down the intake, removing seats, or anything else. One guy said he got 26 runs in last time! So I'll have lots of opportunities to try anything that might help. Thanks:thumbs:
PS I have a 99 GAGT (3.4L auto) so you know.

Sorry, its a closed event. I only got invited because I know some engineers who set it up. Hope I don't have to sign any confidentiality agreements. The LS1 Monte "Taz" will be there, as well as a few other factory freaks. Should be a humbling experience:thumbs:

Just a few suggestions...
-Take spare tire and any other stuff out of your trunk.
-When you get to the water box at the track, just give your tires a light chirp.
-When you get ready to launch, keep your foot on the brake (not e-brake) and then rev it up to 1500-2000 rpms.
-When the last yellow light turns off (right before green shines), hit it. Just don't do it so early that you red light it.
-Don't manual shift your auto tranny. Just leave it in 3rd.
As you do it more and more, you'll develop you're own "to do's" and get comfortable with it all. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

If running stock Radials that You would use for everyday driving, avoid the Water box. Normal street tires do not like heat and besides you get alot of water that is left in the tread that can drip out while staging and cause tire spin

Thanks for the tips, guys. I drag race quite a bit in my other vehicle, I just wanted some GA-specific tips to get the lowest ET possible. Anyone ever run with the ETS on? I just wondered what effect it might have on 60ft. times. Has anyone heard anything about icing the intake on the 3.4? It works wonders on LT-1s. Just wondering....again:thumbs:

I would say no for the ETS....it's only going to slow you down. I have not tried icing down the intake but I plan on taking a big bag of ice next time I go to the track.
