I was ready to change my fuel filter , but I am not sure how to open the green clip ,so , before I do something I will regret and end up with a bunch of little green plastic pieces I hope somebody can tell me how to get it open ...http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1889/02062012146.jpg

Use a fuel line tool. They are plastic clips that will remove the retainer.

You can do it with a flat head screw driver too, it should just pop off

There's a small tab facing down. Use a pocket screwdriver to pry gently on that tab and there will be a lower green part that will swing out. Then squeeze that bit and the other green tab that's fixed in the line together and push up.
THen remove from filter.

On my 98, I had to break the plastic clips off and pry it off. The fuel filter I picked up at AutoZone had a clip already on the male end. So it was plug and play.
I took these from AllData, hope they help!

Wordddd... Im curious to see if it improves gas mileage. I just changed mine and haven't noticed anything yet.
