shocks = struts ?

ok this might sound dumb, but .....are shocks the same thing as struts.....maybe ppl use 2 different names to mean the same thing? any help would be nice and or pix too.....

also....wheres a good place to get shocks....online or local.......cuz it seems nobody online has good REAR shocks.......most have the front ones but the rear ones are usually always out-of-stock.......and if i get some, i wanna buy front/rear.........not just partial.....let me know......

I don't believe they are the same..

Spring goes around a strut.

Shock stands alone, older gen GA has shocks in rear, with springs beside em I believe.

Shocks and struts both have the same primary function - to control the oscillation of the springs. But struts also have the job of being structural members of the suspension system, while shocks are not load-bearing members. However the spring is mounted in the suspension system makes no difference.

no idea but im replacing mine cuz i wanna get lowering springs......not that the stockers are worn out or anything.......:(

Always a good idea to change your struts/shocks when lowering. That's what I'm doing. I've been waiting to get a good deal on them for a while and I think I've found just the people to give it to me.

yes....its a 00 gagt........ im not really sure which kinda shocks/struts i want but i guess anything better then the stock ones.......i heard KYB are pretty good ......... let me know what they have and their prices or estimates on em........thnx :thumbs:
