Would I need a conversion kit or just the HID bulbs? Can anyone give a link for recommended HIDs that would work? For 2000 Grand AM.

Judging by the picture alone, you would need to buy bulbs, ballasts, and all of the wiring for those headlights. Not sure what bulb size those headlights use, though.

Buy on eBay. Any other site overprices the headlights.

No those don't come with HIDs. None of them technically come with HID installed. I personally would not buy HIDs off of eBay for paranoia reasons.

You can find them on ebay with the HID kit included.

How come with the projectors I get a checkmark pattern on my highs and my lows wont turn on unless my highs are turned on? Also the light from the high and lows look really dim. Could it be from the DRL mod or ALC bypass?

sounds like the wires need flipped and the check mark is too keep oncoming driver getting blinded

I thought the beam pattern should be straight. It looks like this. Do you mean the lows and highs wire needs to be switched?

^Those projectors are not aimed right at all.

Aimed them more up and then it'll look right. I've been told that some projectors are like that so less light is up on the side of oncoming traffic. Just like how some BMWs left projector(In the US) are aimed down a little bit but in this case the cutoff shield is like that.

The halos looks really dim to like they aren't getting enough power. Could it be at all related to a DRL and ALC bypass? Also the up and down adjustment doesn't seem to be able to make the headlight look up any further.

Do you mean dim in the day light? Or dim in general?

If they are CCFL you won't be able to see then in the day. That has nothing to do with the ALC/DRL bypass though.

Those headlights that you first posted come with a LED halo which are not as bright as CCFLs.

And if your up and down adjustment doesn't go any higher you sht is fked.

Or the headlights aren't installed correctly. OP, make sure those metal tabs are locked down on all the adjustment tabs on the headlights... I know they suck, but if you miss one of them, it could throw everything off.

Well thats because the main projector light is "drowning" out the halo. As in, the halo is still as bright as it always is but since its around the projector its going to be hard to see when its on.

Is it possible to switch the led halo with a CCFL halo? What would be the size for it?

Is the light inside in the halo the high beam or low beam?

TDavis

Yeah. GA_mayne put CCFL halos in the exact headlights you have. The projector is the low beam.

Here's the thread with pictures on it.

So for these headlights I would need a H1 HID kit for HIDs?

Most of those use a 9006 for a low beam and H1 for high.

Is there a way to check what bulb they are? They don't say on the bulb.

That is a H1 it actually says that in the image link as well.
If that is what your bulb looks like then it is.

Is there a certain way to lock in that bottom adjustment tab? I can't get to it when installing the head light.
