So my car makes a random ticking sound on a regular basis and it comes out of the signal sound. The signal works all the time but there is a constant ticking when the signal is off. Can't seem to figure it out. Anybody know what it could be?

You can take apart the steering column and clean your signal arm. There is a tutorial somewhere for it. Just needs a cleaning, no need to get paranoid

Its not hard to do. It was actually a past recall

its very easy to do with a step by step walk through, with pics. or you could try a junk yard and hope the one you get was fixed.

Will this particular issue also cause the turn signals to blink faster when used? Mine blinks faster than normal about 90% of the time but there are those rare moments they blink normally. All lights do work.

My car is doing the same thing right now i am still trying to figure it out but i relized that at night my fog lights were blinking everytime i heard the click.. i think it might be a relay the passanger side fuse block holds the fog light fuse and relay. i will let u know. please let me know what u find.

the random clicking is there was contaminated grease in the 4 way switch, taking apart the column and regreasing with solve the problem, mine did this for ONE day and there way NO way im gonna get used to random clicking, the column housing is only a couple of screws, its not really hard to do. as for fast blinking.....

if you DONT have any led's in there then you probably have a bulb out, like mine if the right rear goes out the front blinks twice as fast its how i know i have a bulb out.

endured several lil quirks with this car, but i still love her LOL

I bought a new one on ebay since I also wore out my button that dispenses the washer fluid and it was very difficult to get any to dispense... the entire blinker unit comes out and just swap another one in.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured out how to fix the signal switch, but it only ever seems to be just temporary. I do have LED lighting in my car but its not just one or 2 ticks. its constant repetetive ticking that doesnt stop. I did the research and apparently it was under recall by GM, but its not outstanding anymore so odering a new one off ebay might just do the trick.
