I have been experiencing a rough idle when I am in Drive stopped at say a red light. It will go away immediately after shifting into Neutral or Park. Anyone have any ideas of what it may be. I was thinking O2 sensors but I am far from a mechanic lol

Could be a lot of things based on your description. How many miles on the car?

Here's a short list:

1) Spark Plugs
2) Plug Wires
3) Air filter
4) Fuel Filter
5) Vacuum Leak
6) Bad fuel
7) Dirty MAF
8) Bad fuel injector
9) Motor mounts

Mine does the same thing, 2000 GT with 190,000 miles. Subtle rough idle only when stopped in drive, push it into neutral and it goes away. No SES light and not really bad enough for me to look into considering all the possibilities (see list above...)

There are 155,000 km so 96000 miles. Spark plugs and plug wires have been replaced at 145,000, fuel filter replaced, motor mounts good, clean MAF, air filter is good. Will have to check on vacuum leaks, gonna get a can of intake cleaner and spray around the obvious areas and see if the engine dies or races. If not, might have to live with it.

With that many miles,,and only when engine is engaged to transmission, I'd be leaning towards a torque convertor about to fail, or some other trans component about to go.

In my case (190k miles) I think it possibly could be something trans related.

My trans will slip when pushed hard and doesn't like to down shift either but when driven in a normal (relaxed) manner it's perfectly fine.
