Was just looking around at gaupgrades.net to see the if any new stuff was out. In addition I just started reading up some of the things on there. Here are my questions:

1.) What exactly are the benefits of coil packs? I saw the Accell Coil Packs listed, went tot he page and read the excerpt. Still didn't get much from it. Does it provide any performance benefit, or is it lumped in like spark plugs and wires..just something some people feel makes a difference.

2.) The stage 3 heads at Street Arsenal that say they are for NOS, SC, Turbo cars. Would these really add a lot of power like they suggest if used in conjunction with the mani's and TB? We have seen the Stage 2 results, which are positive, but the Stage 3 stuff on us SC'd guys cars, would it be as impressive?

As per your first question I believe that the coil packs just give a hotter more aggressive spark improving throttle response.

Aftermarket coil packs are useless and are lumped in with spark wires and plugs............didn't someone have specs on these and they compared almost directly to the Delco ones we have stock??

Coilpacks are not worth it unless your OE's are fading.

The heads, probably best getting a local job done on them, or getting the RSM's for convenience. The SA Heads are extremely overpriced, and are not even verified for performance aside from FastSteve's car. He should have been around a high 14 sec quarter... has he run anything in the 14's officially? I can't remember now if he got them at the GAP02...

SA's "stages" are sort of ridiculous. It's more confusing than it is helpful.

Like Pat said, yer best bet would be to get the work done locally. I'm having my heads p&p-ed and flowbenched for $500 and that is having EVERYTHING done (SA 'stage 3' essentially) SA's stage two has a 3 angle valve job and the stage 3 has a 5 angle job and that is about the only major difference I have heard (anyone hear differently feel free to correct me.)

The stage 2 setup is supposedly done with some consideration for flow through the heads, whereas the stage 3 is just hogged out as much as possible so that boosted engines can get that much more air into the cylinders heads. IOW, the stage 3 would be very bad for an NA motor. The idea behind it is that the SC/turbo will just force the air wherever it is supposed to go, so flow characteristics of the heads aren't a concern. Seems kinda crappy to me....

I still kinda find it funny that a company that supposedly supports our platforms doesn't check in to forums such as this to read the comments on their products. With all the SA bashing that goes on, you'd think that they would want to try to clear their name and resolve any issues. But hey, maybe that's just me.
