OK boost brothers. I've had the GA back for a wk after getting the busted bolt Heli-coiled out and a proper grade 8 stud and nut installed to keep the S/C from shifting . They supposedly removed the S/C to get to the bolt

Now when I give it enough gas to kick in the S/C, it lags and I get a whine that I'm not used to.

Yeah, that's not right at all. Not really enough information to tell what's wrong though. They would have had to remove the SC probably to get the bracket out of the way so they could get the broken bolt out. Hopefully they didn't damage anything when they did it. You're just gonna have to dig in and start checking things out to see if they put it all back together properly. Check the bypass valve, all the vacuum tubes, throttle cables and electrical connections etc. Make sure the belt is routed properly, fully seated and not rubbing on anything, and that the tensioner isn't botttomed out. Things like that.

My bet is that they picked it up or hit that bypass actuator on something.

If they took off the vacuum hose at the SC, the brass flow restrictor could have been dislodged and lost. That's if you had one in there to begin with, after the last install.

edit: on the bypass valve

Once she cools down I'll check it out.

Found one thing that wasn't hooked up. The hose running from the rear of the engine to the area near the MAF.

Still got some lag and some whine.. Gonna check more tomorrow.

Might want to shut off the battery power and let the fuel trims reset, they're all out of whack if you had a vacuum leak.
