I have been thinking of doing this for a while and i think that this year i might actually get some kind of NOS on my 99gt. It has 31K miles as of now. I also have a warranty till 102K miles. I want the performance goodies and all but i think it'd be neat to have this too. WHat do you guys think? Should i get the Zex kit? Or should i get a Dry kit or a wet kit? What would be best. I only want a 55 shot to be safe. Give me your opinons guys. Can the 3400 take this?

First of all you want some kind of nitrous not NOS. NOS is a brand name.
A lot of guys like the zex kit because everything is self-contained..
With nitrous your concerns are making sure you are putting enough fuel into the mixture when spraying, that is why many prefer wet systems and don't rely on the stock fuel system to keep up (which it can, but as added measure of insurance, they go wet).
As far as the engine taking it... Get proper plugs in... A lot of guys here use nitrous with no engine probs (and big shots too).

NOS is a correct term isn't it?? It is an acronym for Nitrous Oxide System. The brand NOS took that as their name when developing their system. So him saying "i might actually get some kind of NOS on my 99gt" is equivalent to saying "i might actually get some kind of Nitrous Oxide System on my 99gt." Then he goes on to ask specific questions including the company Zex.

Well off topic but nos is a BRAND NAME and anyone serious about nitrous does not use the term NOS to desribe a nitrous oxide system.
I think most of us just hate to hear nos when someone is talking about nitrous.
kinda like every tim esomeone sees a car they dont like its ****.
Anyway
as for the stock fuel system being able to handle the demands of nitrous, this is true up to about a 50 shot. Anything over and you will end up running lean.
N2O olds on a 55 shot zex kit with 60 psi of fuel pressure was very close to running lean.
Also the down side of zex is that little controller box. being that its an all in one unit, if the solenoid goes bad you have to replace that entire box instead of just a solenoid.
Also after seeing a aex solenoid stick open and blow up my friends mustang I'd never touch zex
Computerized looks cool but if you ask me its just more to break and more stuff that can go wrong.
I know every brand has its horror stories but wet is and always will be safer than dry.
Is saving a few bucks really worth the extra risk?
Oh and when running nitrous dont forget to change plugs to a non-platnum plug
platnum reacts with nitrous and it will burn up the plugs really fast.

IMO, don't screw with ZEX, go for NOS or NX. I have a NOS brand dry kit and I love it. They have two solenoids so you don't have to worry about them sticking open (unless by some act of god, both of them break at exactly the same time). Get a set of TR6 plugs, some new wires and you can safely run a 50 shot all day. Wet is better, but dry is fine for just a 50 shot.
P.S. NOS - N2O - Nitrous, whatever...we all new what he meant

unless you plan on running about 150 plus shot they are a waste of cash
They are very good but the lowers jet setting on most kits starts at 100 shot
nitrous express has distrobution rails as well as a new nxl system
the nxl right now only fits a B16 A honda motor tho.

I believe you shouldn't be spraying when you're near the redline, seems really bad if you bounce with it. The ECU might not be able to control it (or at least control it as well) I think??

People overcome hitting the rev limiter and bouncing off it with a B&M shift kit or autotrans interceptor... Pace talks about it in a few posts if you poke around

Although I've never run the nitrous without the B&M on, I do know that with it I've never hit the rev limiter and the car has never failed to lock into the next gear.
edit: sorry, I worded that funny. YES, get a B&M or autotrans intercept

I think Pace was sayin it was only with a larger shot... botlfed for example needed it with that 125 shot

I've hit it a few times before even with the autotrans.
with a wet kit its no problem
with dry being that our rev limiter is fuel cut it could pose a problem.
another safty to use would be an msd ignition set near the rev limiter.
its an ignition cut so its tons safer
