Well I have ran through all the RPO codes on my car, and I can not believe that the car did not come with keyless entry. The car in question is a 2004 Grand AM GT with the SC/T package. I would have figured that the SE or the lower end cars may have not had Keyless entry, but not a higher end GT.

I mean after all this car even came with satellite radio, so why not keyless entry...I guess this is just more of a WTF was GM thinking thread than anything....:amraam:

oh well guess its time to add remote start/keyless entry.

It does have key less entry... So do SE's.

Do you mean smart keys that unlock the car when your close to it?

AU0 on the spare tire cover is keyless entry. The control is next to the trunk light. GTs should have it

The RPO sticker does not have AU0 therefore I believe I do not have keyless entry.

No it really doesn't suck to be me, I've already got a remote start/keyless entry installed since the original post I put up. Was a pretty straight forward install, and now I'm better than OEM.

I've never heard of a GT or SE that didn't have keyless entry. It was a standard feature on those cars. I'd check again.

Aaron, that was my assumption as well until i bought this car. I have a pic of the RPO code sticker, AU0 is not anywhere on the sticker. Sorry about it being sideways, can't figure out how to change it on my phone.

Keyless entry was a standard on all 5th gen Grand Am's.

Yeah, I don't have my RPO code book with me right now, but I bet if I did and went over the codes on that sticker I'd find it somewhere. I don't know if AU0 is correct for your car/year or not. Like I said, it was standard on all grand ams. Your car probably has the module in it, and you might have just not got the door remotes with it when you bought it. People lose them on old cars sometimes.

thats what i was going to say, if your car didnt come with a key fob, it probably got lost. 100% your car has keyless entry, you just have to get a new fob, go to GM and have it programmed to the car.

Some dealerships will even program a keyfob for your car for free if you ask nicely.

You won't find the option code, at least I couldn't find it on my 2003 Gt.
Keyless entry is not an option, it's standard equipment on a GT.
Get a new key fob have it programmed at the dealer.
