I'm a native over at www.clubgp.com but I just registered here to see if you GA pro's can help with a problem with my sisters 1995 SE.
The 3rd brake light works, but the main brake lights don't work. The bulbs are definitely good because they work when the turn signal is activated. The 20amp fuse marked "BRAKE/HAZARD" is also good. I think this may be a circuitry problem because both the brake lights and hazard lights are dead - both on this fuse.
Any ideas? TIA

check the brake fuse in the fuse box under the hood maybe
im not really sure, id start there though. There are 2 fuses for the brakes. one on the driver side fuse box and one under the hood.

You sure about that in a 1995 GA? I just went outside and couldn't find any fuse panel under the hood. Just a panel of relays.

I'm also pretty sure theres no fuse box under the hood of a '95. Its the turnsignal combo switch (multiswitch) thing thats broken. We had this same problem in our Corsica where the brake lights would work erraticly and the 3rd would always work fine. Replacing it involves removing the steering wheel.

Brake lights have 2 filaments, one from the brake light, one for the flasher. My guess is that the filament for the brakes is burnt in both your lights. It's not common but it can happen. Try to replace one of the bulb with a new one and see how that goes...
