Ram Air hood question

I recently got my hood and it came with grill pieces for the ram air holes..

My question is how do I go about fitting and fastening those grills to the hood?

Are the pieces similar to the "nostril" looking area on the front of the car? If they are they should slip on the metal from underneath. Are they the solid plastic grills(do they even let air pass through)? I'm just wondering because I've seen the hood + install price at $1000 or so and can't believe the amount of people that would pay for an inactive scooped hood. If they don't let air through I'd say leave them off altogether, just my opinion. You may want the look more than any air flow benefit.

The grill I want to install (that came with the hood) does let air pass.

I think I found a way to do it, but I'm not really sure... yet.
