I was driving down the road earlier today, and the radio chimed and now I have a Service Vechicle Soon light on (NOT Service Enging Soon). Then I noticed that my DRL's are not working.
Are the DRL's not working because the light is on, or is the light on because the DRL's are not working.

The light is on cause the drl's arent on. Check the fuses for em (in your owners manual), then check the relay / headlight bulbs.

Yeah it's most likely you DRL fuse in the engine compartment...I ride with that SVS light all the time cause I hate DRL's If look at the fuse top it will say DRL on it...Try taking you fuse relay out of the side fuse box for power locks and see it you lights come on...If you need anymore info just ask!

Flip on your high beams, you will tell real quick if it's the bulb or not. The DRL circuit connects teh high beams in series.. so if one is out it will take out the other.

Thanks found the problem. one of my low beam headlights were burnt out causing the DRL's to stay off. THe DRL's are the low beams on my car.

In that case.. your headlamps are in upside-down (if you have a grand am..)

Bulb in upside down??
A. they are keyed to only go in one way.
b. the harness is keyed to only go in one way.
C. according to GM, most new vechicles use lowbeam element as DRL's, older use highbeam at half wattage.
D. double checked, car is sending power to the low beam circuit for DRL, maybe canadian GA's are different then american ones?
