Did my Optilux Angel Eye 2500 install this weekend. Installation wasn't too hard. It's a pretty much the same as the Blazertech install, with additional wiring for the LED's

question about the drl kit (if thats what your using) can you shut off the corner lights too? or only control the head lights while the car is running

Jeremy

no DRL kit (other than a piece of black plastic covering the light sensor (01's + have the ability to turn the headlights on and off with the switch on the steering column).

damnit, why couldn't the 01's have it? i like the lights but i'd wantt o be able to cut out the headlights + corners and run with them

Jeremy

I think they're brighter than the BT 3200's.., or they at least have a different (more effective) beam pattern than the 3200's

im sure they'd look sweet with HID's or superwhites :)

I'm sure Seth (Iceman) will come up with a brighter LED combination to make them glow even brighter, since he's the LED KING.

Yes you can have both the fogs & LED's on at the same time, but once the Fogs are on, you can't see the LED's anymore.

Hey Jeremy, when you said the install is pretty much the same as the Blazers, does that mean these mount the same? I haven't done the Blazers, and after I saw these on PFYC I figure I'd rather have these. So how much of a difference? Could I get buy using your Blazertech install directions for the most part?

Also, can you wire these up to use the factory switch?

Can you post a pic with the fogs on too (not just the angel eyes)?? Just curious to see them with the lights :)

They're pretty much the same as the blazer install (I used that install sheet as my template for the AE2500's), except you have the additional wiring for the LED's. Instructions are posted on the Mods section and will soon (if not already) posted on the AE2500 page on PFYC.com.

ok so i already have the blazer 3200's. if i just switch the housings and add the few x-tra wires for the leds, can i use the blazertech wiring?

You're better off yanking the BT wiring harness since they way the AE2500's are loomed, you'd spend more time running the extra wire for the AE's using the BT wiring harness. Besides, if you take out the BT's & wiring harness, you can sell that as a complete kit and recoup some of the cost of the AE's.

What kind of LED's do ya put in there

Jeremy
02-24-2003, 03:27 PM
3mm ones you can get from Radio Shack, you just have to make sure you get the right resistor or else you'll zap the LED's.

Can someone clear this up for me? Are they actually a fog light that produces a lot of light (like any other foglight)? or is it just like a show thing?

I just got a sweet idea...

What if you put an orange l.e.d. in the angel eyes, then tied them in with the turn signals?! I'm always thinkin of things..:boogie:

Mike, someone over on clubgp did that, only without the pumpkin lights. Do a search over there for a video.

I think people misunderstood me. I meant have the angel eye part flash when you turn on a turn signal.

Oh so not function as a turn signal, just turn on like the Buicks have that bright ligh on the side that turns on when you set that sides turn signal on. that right?

Well those lights are not very white or blue, but that is rally neat looking with the LEDs only on :) very cool! I may just have to order myslef some of those, now that I just put in the eurolite. lol

Kinda like the Cadillac CTS. The bottom parking lights. Change the L.E.D. to orange and have them flash in synch with the headlight turn signals.

well that is what that above video shows, binkes with the turn signals.. ya it was opposite the signal, but I asume you can wire it up tot be at the same time too, either way cool.

Yeah, I thought the video was what you were referring to. Either way, the video/setup is pretty cool.
