There's no set up fee, I don't believe unless we want it to have instantaneously...which I don't care how long it takes (normally within 24 - 48 hours).
Backups are 5 bucks...which I'll have the entire site synchronized with some other places...so there's not a big need.
What's people's ideas, what does everyone think? If someone knows of a better place, with more bandwidth or storage please let me know.
I know this hosting company is very reliable, and my friend has used them for almost 3 years now...only 1 downtime, less than 2 hours...
So speak!!! hehe...

damn, that seems like a damn good deal. lets go with the 2 year deal.
i suggest we go with
www.viciousperformance.net

yeah, that doesnt seem too expensive.
i dont know how many members we got but just sayin.....
(10*24months) $240 divided by 10 members
that means only 1$ a month is needed.

Sounds good...i say we do it...but we would need the $24 dollars a pice up front though...depending on # of members!!
I like it :) Nice find Dan!!!!

02-24-2003, 08:22 PM
well i dunno about all 24 bucks per person, but i'd say maybe 12 per person would be good.

well, i was just thinking with a bank account in mind since you need so much. Unless you just wanted to put it under your mattress. lol

Well I think that we need to have finalized what will be the "dues" for a member upon the joining of Vicious Performance.
My opinion, if you are collecting (this is just all fictional) 3 dollars a month times 12 (roughly figured) members. Then through the first month you have 36 bucks.
Now we atleast need the 20 for the domain set up, and I'm guessing then the first month would be 9.95 (with two year commitment).
Secondly we need to figure out how we are going to collect the money and who wants to sign up for the service (since we need a name/credit card for it)...
Just a couple thoughts.

Well if you cant afford 3 dollars a month...then your not welcome in this car club :) I mean thats bad if you can't afford that lol
that like 10 cents a day!!! Even amber can prolly afford it ;) :D

Well yearh, but I'm just demonstrating that if you charge that, are you going to try to accumulate any other money for anything else...like shirts for everyone, or dinners or what not?! A Vicious Performance Fund that we can tap into for stuff.
Example, thing like Carlisle to help offset the cost for those that show. Or maybe new members receive the small VP vinyl (like the ones for the opera windows...
Just throwing out ideas here.
Also, where/who keeps track of the money??!?
Just trying to think of the best "bang" for the buck.
...and I agree, three bucks a month, you should be able to do that! Heck 5/month is only 60 a year, that's not bad at all to have your own webpage dedicated to your car and be part of the best car club in Pittsburgh.

3 or 5 bucks sounds good to me. Dan I have no clue what any of what you put in the first post of this means, but if each member can have a page on the site with our car and some shots with different angles or work in progress pics (my car) that will be great. we can have a guest book where people who look and/or are interested can sign and get info. Have everyones email addys on the site somewhere. we can have a place for meet pics with the party pics to go with them. all that good stuff. that will work for me. I am game for all of that. We do need to figure out who should collect money and all that jazz. maybe we can all just write a check and mail it to the person in charge of the money. Or we should start to set up a monthly meet. we all meet somewhere and chill drop a few bucks see what we did to our cars in the past month. see what shows are coming up that we can attend. stuff like that. let me know what yall think about that.

lol It's all good, I'm going to get my friend to help with the website (he used to run a gaming site that got hit 4,000+ times a day) was making decent money off it as well. Had all these customizations to his webpages that you (the viewer) could do. Plus he made his own message board, which I think we can use as well (so not absolutely everything related to VP will be done on here). I might end up dropping a couple bucks to him (nothing big), but just to say Thanks!
His website is www.enfused.com. lol the website updates itself, he hasn't done anything with it in the last 5 months (you can tell it's out of date and no longer funded)...runs itself and I think is a pretty well laid out site...though not exactly what we want...but he's pretty good at getting them started.
So I'd like to get some ideas from him on what he thinks would be a good idea for us to do.

In all reality, me, and I would guess most of the other "Northern VP members" would not be able to make monthly meets.
But I would be more than willing to send money.
And, I am working on a summer meet up here. Racing and all! (Not the racing you are thinking)
Black Z28
02-25-2003, 04:13 PM
well then fill us in on the kind of racing u are thinking of buddy.
oh, and i just thought of this. we are going to need a treasurer. and since dan and i will be running the website, i think we should be in charge of the money also. i don't really know if we can do the bank account, because usually u have to have a minimum balance. i'm thinking if we are able to get an account, dan and i should have both our names on it. i'm saying we charge 5 bucks a month, and u pay 6 months at a time. sound good to everyone? we will get the website up and running and then see where we are with t-shirts and such after we get the site running.

not a bad idea, makes no difference to me how it goes, as long as there's a good tracking system of where the money goes so that none gets lost or used for something it's not. I know I would hate to put money into something and not get my return for the money...and I imagine everyone else is the same way.
A bank account is a good place, though one without a min. account balance and one that is willing to put two (different) names on an account without it being a business account....hmmm....have to do some looking around. I've got no clue.

I imagine that you can setup a joint free checking or savings account.
And yeah like molson said, not sure that I could make all of the meets, but I'll be more then willing to send money

That's cool, I don't think we'd ever make manditory meets...that just doesn't seem like our style...
Like I said, makes no difference to moi!

I must of missed something but... what is the need for over $600 per year.

huh?!
where'd 600 come from!?

I'm just sayin if you want 60 a year from a person. I know we atleast got 10 ppl. I just wanted to know what else that money was going towards.
Whatever the amount of funds needed upfront or what not to get the ball rolling on this I'm there.
Sorry about the recent meet everyone, I got there too late.

With the extra money we have we can use it for a number of things:
1: Get a banner made up for shows.
2: Shirts
3: Offset the cost of shows.
4: Meets
5: Rent stuff......for meets
6: Bail one of us out of jail
7: Bail more than one of us out of jail.
Any number of things

-Luke Website will have a forum set up on it. Already covered. However it won't be like this one cuz I don't feel like going through all the hassle to use it when there are plenty of good free ones that work just as well. :)
Like Pucci said, extra money will be used to Bail us all out of jail after everyone does burnouts infront of the cops. lol
Julian, when you want to meet up?! If I ever get my car back  I'll want an AEM filter!

So....what did we decide we're doing here. I looked at the paypal accounts, and if you keep it as a personal account, you can send and receive money free of charge. However, you cannot accept credit card payments and I believe there is a maximum monthly amount that you can receive. When you receive money from a premium or business account, the fee is 2.9% + 30¢. A paypal account would probably still be the way to go. I think we should jump on this whole website deal.

Sounds like things are starting to really organize here... I smell the whole organization hiearchy coming to play... President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Beer Pong Statistition....
Here's my 2 cents on the matter for what its worth. $5/mo or $48 for a one year pledge. Pay in one lump sum you have $48 liquid today plus the member gets a little bit of a break on dues.
Or they pay $5/mo you make $60 throughout the year which keeps constant cash flow. Both methods have their advantages.
OR... different level membership... $36 annual gives you access to meets and a vote during meetings and a VP vinyl... $60 annual gives you all the features of the website (email, webspace, etc.) plus your vote, and other cool stuff..
these are just ideas and the numbers are there for the fact of making a point.

Nice, I like that idea a lot!!!
Definitely something like that would be cool...
I'm still waiting to see how everything goes down, so we can have someone (doesn't matter who) sign up for the website, and to get an account for holding the money...
