No, it doesn't matter which way the hole is facing. There is a groove channel around the body of the lifter where the hole is, so once the lifter drops down into the oil galley area, the hole will get oil pressure no matter which way it's facing. My other question was going to be, how do you know it's not getting pumped up? And how big is the cam lift? There is a limit to how much lift you can run on a stock diameter base circle because of the inside diameter of the cam bearings. If you want to run higher lift than that, they have to grind down the base circle so they can make the lobes taller and still fit the cam through the bearings. If that's the case, you have to get custom length pushrods to make up the difference, otherwise you will lose some max lift and some of the lifter pre-load when the valve is closed.

I put a bigger cam and added the ls6 springs im gonna take the upper and lower off tomorrow and see whats going on i think what might of happened is that the pin hole in lifters is facein wrong way so there for wouldnt pump up cause oil cant get in them someone told me i might need longer push rods but the cam i put in doesnt call for different ones says can use stock rods either there 180 off or there collapsed
