I'm sorry but you are WRONG when it comes to cars You are saying that a supercharged grand am can hang with a COBRA? wtf uhhhhh not in this lifetime my friend The best supercharged GA i have seen was running low 14's A stock mustang GT can run high to mid 13's depending on weather, traction and all that other good stuff Now a stock GT has 260hp at the crank, the '99-'02 cobra has 320 and the '03 has 390 Now a supercharged grand am is getting maybe 250hp Do the math, face the facts, and quit smokin whatever it is you are smokin :D |
a cobra can go mid to high 12s, a supercharged grand am w/ other mods (still less then the price of a cobra) can do low 14s... i said it could hang with it, not beat it...

But I can't stand taking a corner fast in a FWD car. |

OK .. here are some more facts and math... you forgot power loss is greater through the drivetrain with RWD. That's why a stock automatic V6 GTP family sedan with 240HP can take down or hang with a 5-speed 260HP V8 Mustang GT. Another thing you forgot is traction... 1/4 times don't tell the whoe story in the case of a SC Grand Am... from a roll I would bet $$ that a 320HP Cobra would have a time with a supercharged GA. THAT'S embaressing for the driver of the Cobra. I'd be embaressed havnig a hard time shaking a Grand Am in ANY sports car. |

My money would be on the cobra from a roll or a stop |
...i still stand by what i said a supercharged + lightly modded grand am could `hang` with a cobra ... when you define hang as beat it and i define it at staying within 2-3 car lengths...
|
2-3 car lengths is hanging? thats getting your a$$ kicked!
Hanging is at least at the rear bumper **** my ga stay 3 car lengths behind a camaro for peets sake, i dont think of that as hangin with it lol |

I am not trying to take sides, but why so much hatred towards Mustangs? I like them. That will be the only Ford car I would buy. ****ing off about people buying a V6 Mustang is not much different than bashing people for buying a Grand Am SE, when SE is not much cheaper than GT(especially if you want SE with V6). People like sporty cars, but not many people can afford insurance on V8 models that are gas guzzlers.
Oh and do you all know why GM decided to kill Firebirds and Camaros? |
dude this thread was stopped, dont start it back up again
|
bottom line.... i paid about the same as a new mustang GT driver would, yet my car will own that same GT over and over again. end of story
|
Quote:
do i care? NO this thread was comparing a ga to a mustang, not a mustang to a camaro again this thread was ended, end of story |
first off, how is there any comparison between a mustang and a GA? there isn't really, two totally different cars with totally different markets. Oh and go ahead and beat me with your bike... see what happens when you wreck on a bike vs a car
|

and second of all ive already been down on a bike so i know how it feels, plus that has nothing to do with getting smoked Just end it already lol |
k, over

Couples things:
From what I heard, a nice built supercharged Grand Am GT that I met at this meeting in Sterling Heights dynod 227 or so. Mustang V6s can get that with bolt ons alone, every single bolt on to do it, but just saying. Second, from what I have heard- GAGT > GPGT and a Mustang v6 is = GAGT so that would make a Mustang v6 > GPGT. I am thinking in terms of 1/4 stock times. Second- to make this fair, MSZ (Mike) had a 97 v6 and then WON a Mustang GT automatic for FREE at an auto show. Only payed a thousand or so for tax, so he can't BLING like he has that kind of cash to buy and maintain a V8. Once again he won it. Sorry Mike. Now if any of this makes a difference or not, I'll see you guys on the street because I'm tired of this thread, happens a lot. v6 Mustang = 15.3 1/4 mile for reference, that's on a manual like I have. Automatics are high 15s or low 16s, Ford Automatics suck huge balls. Mike's automatic v8 runs high 14's so if anyone wants to try him out, go for it. |
