with some slicks/tuning/weight red. you could break into the 13s.

that would be great. I have bought a cf hood, it's just not on yet. Not sure if I'll go slicks or not, but we'll see. Tuning for sure....

Well, I went to the track again today and did 10 more runs. The temperature was a few degrees cooler and I removed the tire and jack from my trunk. I changed my 2-3 shift up by 1mph and added 1 degree of timing.

My first run was a 14.780@95.54. I was pretty happy with this since it was earlier in the day than last nights runs and it was a better time!!

I then ran a 14.318@96.67. I thought this was going to be my best time.

The following were the remaining times for the day:

14.372@98.90
14.312@97.81
14.222@98.02 - I was going to quit after this one figuring this was lucky :)
14.211@97.46 - glad I went again!!

14.195@97.84 - this surprised me...

14.225@97.79
14.308@97.36
14.289@97.84 - Last run... thought I could beat the other!! NOPE

Thanks Milzy and HPTuners..... this surpassed my expectations! Now for a trip to the dyno to finalize my tuning. Maybe 13's arent' that far off in stock trim:)

Most impressive. Congrats.

Damn boy. F'n A! Much props. For all those in doubt of the cam, behold the results. Very very impressive. Imagine what a converter and final drive ratio change would do.

EDIT: Had to make a smilie for this one ;)

I installed the 1.5 over my 1.0.................. shifts are identical! feels the exact same. I was afraid of losing the advantages of the standard 1.0 on the GAGT.... nope..... seems like the 1.5 is a copy of the 1.0! those who are considering the 1.0 should just buy the powertuner! :slayer

----------------------------------------------------------

a consistant 14.2 car with bad tires and warmer weather. you probably have a 13.9 car with slicks, no front passanger seat (sucker weighs about 40 lbs!!, race gas, and more timing! do you have any logs of the runs???

this is making me reconsider trading the gagt in!!! heck... i will be nuts to have 3 pontiac cars and a ford truck!!

sc02grandam 07-10-2005 10:34 AM

very VERY nice times.. how much do you think you've spent on engine upgrades total?

Well, I haven't spent as much as some, but probably more than most. Including my Alpine CD/MP3 player and CF hood (just picked it up today), I've spent around 7000 Canadian (that's like what 4 dollars american??). Engine upgrades alone are probably around 2500 Canadian. Exhaust around 1200 Canadian. And headers (not quite sure which category to place that in; exhaust? Engine?).

Anyway, still alot to buy.....

I think tires are first. The stockers are really worn. Probably go with a Yokohoma All Season for now, since I need the car for winter. Maybe next year, I'll get some flat black rims & summer tires.

Next would definitely be an engine mount and a pulley. I've noticebly lost torque and I hope these things will help.

I'm not sure a larger TB is going to do anything for me at the time. I hafta hit the dyno to see if enough air is getting in. I think it is since I have to run rich right now (o2's are 930 - 960 at WOT). Maybe once I get the tuning figured out, it will be apparent that that is what I need. Probably bigger injectors if I need a larger TB. My biggest problem is the price of these TB's.... hard to justify.

The main thing that I think is needed is tranny work..... not sure on the $$ or what needs (or is available) to be done, but I don't think it will last.

I think Milzy is definitely on the right track with his work. I would recommend this setup to anyone looking for a gain. Even stage I I'm sure would help. My gas mileage still remains pretty much the same (except when using alot of WOT; expected). If you don't like a lobey idle, then this is not for you

You'll loose even more low end torque with a larger throttle body.

99blackSE 07-10-2005 03:45 PM

Congrats xonelith, those times are awesome.

xonelith 07-11-2005 09:34 PM

Well I posted my dyno results in another thread. 203.41HP and 193.83 Torque. Not bad for 99* temps.

MilzyZ34 07-13-2005 08:43 AM

Tim, your car never ceases to amaze me. Congratulations on some awesome ET's, and your dyno runs are equally impressive. keep up the good work, and good luck on your quest for 13's. you're not too far off.

32 pages????? wow!! whats the record?

Kyle 07-16-2005 07:03 PM

Did anyone get there cam installed by anyone other then milzy?

Schweppe23 07-16-2005 09:17 PM

My cam from Comp, should be going in next week as long as I don't get held up on anything. And I believe Aarongtr did his own as well. So far all of the cam'd cars running around here have been done by Milzy, why do u ask?

bu01 07-16-2005 09:35 PM

yuor cam is a regrind?

Schweppe23 07-16-2005 09:46 PM

I was just wondering because Ohio is too far for me to travel to have milzy put it in.

Schweppe23 07-17-2005 04:43 AM

No prob, almost any shop can do this, but it takes the amish ones a little longer :)

I hope a shop can do it because I know that it don't come with instructions so I don't know if they would do it or not.

Just a question about cams

Why dosen't the off the shelf cam kits from places like comp, crane, engine-parts.com.....etc not work with the 3100 and 3400?

I tried searching but I couldn't find anything that answered the question directly.
