I need to find a sports bar on saturday around 430 for a couple hours...either that or just sit by a car with sirrus sat radio with the NFL channels.

Theres a bar literally 50ft away from Cobo called The Post...they will definitely have the games on.

hockeytown is always a good place to watch the games at...

Its also not close to Cobo, as there are a few MUCH closer so he can just walk there instead of parking and repaying to park again. But yeah its a nice place.


Denise, feel free to go to the auto show Sunday instead of with us on Saturday. It would just work better for Seth and I to go Saturday afternoon since his flight leaves Sunday and we'd have to drive down to Detroit, back to SH then back down that way and all the way to the airport, if we went Sunday.

Oh and for any of you wanting more details...basically:

Friday:
6 p.m. - I have to pick up Seth from airport
7:15-30 - Back at hotel, meet up with whoever wants to come to dinner
8:00-30 - Dinner somewhere
9:30 - Partying back at the hotel

Saturday:
12:30 - 1p.m. - Head down to auto show
5 p.m. - Back in the SH area
?? - Dinner
?? - More partying!

seth what time does your flight go back to philly? i think philly has the 1:00 game sunday afternoon.. hopefully you're either back before then or have a later flight so you can watch it....


i can't participate in any saturday events, leaving at like early in the morning to go to Penn State for the Michigan bball game but I'm in Friday night for whatever is going down

The Post will probably be a winner or anywhere that I can take the little people mover to. My hotel is right next to Cobo, so when I park my car in valet, I'm just going to leave it there until I leave Sunday. I will venture farther, but maybe by taxi...but i gotta be careful b/c one thing I learned from using the pgh taxis is that they may take you somewhere, but that doesn't mean they will pick you up there...the last thing I need is to be wandering around detroit drunk and lost...LOL

Oh, you staying at the Pontchatrain Hotel?! If so, you don't have to worry about taking a taxi anywhere. Everything is right around there and in walking distance. (I used to work in the building right next to there.)

Anyway, the Post is a great bar and its literally out the Cobo doors and across the street. There are also a couple other "sport" bars just a couple blocks away. The People Mover doesn't take you too far, but at least around the main Downtown area...and the closest PM station is only 2 blocks from Cobo :)

I'm actually staying at the marriot on jefferson st. the people mover passes through the 5th floor or something like that

Cool, nice hotel. Have you stayed there before?? Cuz its actually not next to Cobo, its about 3 blocks from there, but still walking distance. And it would be easier to walk than take the People Mover cuz the PM will take you around the opposite way before getting to Cobo. Oh and its Jefferson Ave. ;) hehe....

I figure so far an estimate of the plans this weekend will be as follows:

Friday nite:
-Pick Seth up from airport, be back to Sterling Hts around 7:30ish.
-Whoever wants to go to dinner with us, meet us at the hotel shortly thereafter.
-After dinner, PARTY time!

Saturday:
-Noonish/1 p.m. head down to the Auto Show (for those going Sat.)
-Dinner, later after we're back from the show, etc.
-More PARTY time all nite haha.

Sunday:
-Relax/watch the game somewhere (for Seth ;) )
-Whoever else is going to the auto show Sunday will be gone...
-Seth will get his tour of Detroit and all the famous 8 Mile movie spots :p
-Dinner and then take Seth back to the airport

3 more days.. yay!!!! i will have to just give you or seth a call once I get to the hotel to see if you guys are back there from the airport yet... plans sound good to me!!! :)

I still don't know which day i am going yet.. might be saturday so that that I can get out of town earlier on sunday but who knows.. I have to play it by ear and wait til i hear what everyone's plans are.. so hard to try and hang out with everyone in one weekend.. guess I will have to come back another time then lol

Well I am a GP guy, and I am pretty sure I will probably be the only one you guys know that comes to te hotel and parties. Wilkes wont' be up here till sunday because he has something going on saturday now. But I should be around to party it up with ya. And yuo better watch it Nikki or I will have to kick your ass lol
