They don't just not have a QB, they don't have a whole offense. lol J.Lewis had a bad year, I don't know if it was because of his legal trouble, the recievers (or lack there of) don't exactly ooze greatness. Though that could have something to do with not having a quarterback too, who knows.

he was also playing injured A LOT. i think he can be a great running back still if their offense as a whole comes around

Ok, well I'm gonna stick my nose in this thread and give my picks for this weekend. First of all, the Pats are playing in Pittsburgh this weekend. The fact that the Steelers didn't look so good last week and got pretty lucky when it came to the missed field goals doesn't hold any weight. I think they'll realize their mistakes and fix them before gametime. The Pats match up a lot better with the Steelers, and I honestly think the Pittsburgh defense will shut down Dillon. I'm just worried about our DB's keeping up with the Pat receivers and Brady's spot on passing. I know Ty Law will be out, but Ben and his receivers need to get their communication back...especially Plax. The Steelers are 3 point underdogs, and that's understandable from last week's performance. I say Steelers will win 24-17.
The Eagles are without TO, but they're still a solid team. However, I honestly don't know if they can keep up with the Falcons team that showed up to play last week. On the other hand, the BAD Falcons team that likes to show its ugly head from time to time (like the shutout against the Bucs) might show up, too. It all depends on that. If the Falcons come to play, I'm calling it for them 34-24. If the other bad Falcons team shows with a bad Mike Vick, then the Eagles will take it 31-13.

my official picks and i wont offer any reasoning whatsoever...

pats over steelers (barely)

falcons over eagles

then the superbowl: falcons over pats by a TD

IanGT99 01-18-2005 10:43 PM

^^ :wtf

You're really picking against your Pats?? That's the first time I've seen you do that! Even when they were up against the Colts, you said you wouldn't be surprised if they lost, but you were still picking them to win. lol

im also usually wrong.... so we will see lol hopefully i will be superbowl weekend. like i said, i have no reasoning behind those picks, thats what i picked in a pool with my buddies, but i will still say my pats are the better playoff team out there, tested and approved so i wont be surprised if they prove me wrong :)

im just a mixed up bowl of emotions and predictions. im dangerous, loose cannon.... call me maverick

sorry for the weird ramble, just had a couple and watched top gun :ec: lol

Phiadelphia Eagles 13, Atlanta Falcons 10

Pittsburg Steelers 35, New England Patriots 24

-----

Eagles 23, Steelers 21

99GApunk 01-18-2005 11:21 PM

wow thats a high scoring prediction for the steelers vs pats, the best 2 defenses left

bryan1727 01-19-2005 12:34 AM

Pats 24 Steelers 10
Eagles 17 Falcons 13

I want the falcons to win but i dont see it happening

haha, yeah, didn't you pick the chargers over the seahawks or something?

as for me, i predicted the steelers over the falcons back in November, so i'm going to stay with those picks. i really suck at picking scores, so here goes:

Falcons 24, Eagles 21
Steelers 26, Patriots 19

No way the Falcons beat the Eagles. Well it is possible because well....it's the Eagles, but I don't see it happening. The Eagles are a better team all around. There is no way the Falcons receivers will match up to the Eagles pro bowl secondary. They'll just stack the line and have kearse spy vick. Very similar to what the bucs do against them. The Falcons got a cake team in the Rams. I know the Eagles didn't play the greatest of opponents but they were still much better than the Rams. Any reason the ones picking against the Eagles are doing so???

same story the past 3 years.

Falcons have the #1 rushing offense in the league. and their defense may not be as fast or blitz happy, but they are no where near the level of the vikings defense.

no argument there. but, the falcons also have 2 tremendously talented tight ends that the eagles will have to cover, possibly taking 1 or more linebackers out of the pass/rush blitz. although, the vikings receivers aren't exactly stacked, much like the vikings, and culpeper threw for over 300 on them.

i know i'd do it. but then, kearse's pass rushing will not be as prominent as in the past, so that may advantage the falcons, because vick would have more time to look over his receivers. it's really a sore issue though, because vick and the falcons offense have never accelled against a rushing/blitzing defense.

too true that the Falcons had an easier game, but they dominated their "cake" team. again, all people IMO overlooked the vikings. if not for the lucky mitchell fumble recovery in the endzone, and if minnesota didn't absolutely botch all their possible fumble recoveries/interceptions/easy fake field goal TDs, the game would've been very close, if not a win for minnesota, but they absolutely choked in the game, like always. if the same situations happen for Atlanta, i don't see them making the same bonehead mistakes.

carolina panthers? tampa bay bucs? st. louis rams? ;) personally, i just like to root for the underdogs. but, a lot of people are overlooking the falcons defense. the falcons have people to cover westbrook, unlike minnesota who was without corey chavous. their coordinator all but beat the eagles last year if not for a 4th and 26 pass with the packers last year, and the packers defense wasn't all that great. although, you could make a case and say the eagles also had no westbrook.

plus i like michael vick and he's somewhat of a local guy, so i pull for the falcons moreso than the eagles.

99GApunk 01-19-2005 09:08 AM

im picking the falcons because of their speed and attitude

and elim i think my pick was the seahawks would go to the superbowl.... something craaaaaazy like that

braves511 01-19-2005 10:48 AM

elim...nothing like picking it apart line by line...lol I cant wait to see these games both should be close physical matches between great teams.

My roommate just got a ticket to the Steelers/Pats game 22 rows up on the 35 yard line for $95. I told him to go f*** himself. One of his friend's uncles has season tickets and had one person not able to go to the game. So the uncle gave it to my roommate's friend, who in turn basically gave away the $700 ticket to my roommate for $95...

I'll be sitting in front of the TV on my nice, warm, cozy couch while drinking many a beer. He can freeze his ass off for all I care.... :rage:

All honest answers. I like others opinions that aren't completely biased. YA YA I know what happened the last three damn years. But hell, if boston can break an 86 year curse. Why can't the Eagles break the 45.

True, true. I can't wait to see what Fassel does as offensive coordinator next season, I've always liked him.

you also don't have to wait in line to urinate

IanGT99 01-19-2005 09:25 PM
