99GApunk 02-06-2005 08:20 PM

i told everyone it would be close... i cant beleive it still, unreal

branch should get the mvp but im sure brady will. TO had an AMAZING game. bettered only by branch

sidenote, anyone see when freddy couldnt get that bad pass from mcnabb and harrison came up pointing at smiling at him? lol

great game minus the first half

VTECSiGAH8R 02-06-2005 08:20 PM

I just wanted to say HA F***ING HA to Eagles fans, the most obnoxious fans in the NFL. Your team lost despite all of your sh1t talking. McNabb is worthless. lol

VTECSiGAH8R 02-06-2005 08:21 PM

And Westbrook was an idiot catching that pass.

look at the thread *******....seems more of the pats fans were doing the **** talking. The fans are great. We're passionate and show it. Plus. McNabb is def not worthless. Sure he made some mistakes but threw for over 350+ yards. 4th most in superbowl history.

eric99gt 02-06-2005 08:25 PM

tell me about that time management...MY GAWD. I'm sure they'll be practicing that in the offseason. Enjoy that trophy.

NICE BRANCH GOT THE MVP! wooooooooooooo :ec:

please dont support mcnabb on this one, i know he is a GREAT QB but he had a pretty terrible game, sure he had a lot of yards but he made some incredibly bad passes and decisions, i know youre a philly fan but you should be ****ed at him and your coaches.

i knew it would be close :) i 20 to 17 tho. oh well, i won my sqaures for the 4th quarter and final score so im even happier

sidenote, i have never seen so many slips in a superbowl, that field must have been horrible

wow branch gets that hella sexy cadillac

i keep adding to this so i dont make new posts....
i gotta get me one of them brown hats, i like em

GTluver 02-06-2005 08:30 PM

i was close to my prediction of the score.....i said it would be 28-21 pats and it was 24-21.......woot woot :)

GoBlue30 02-06-2005 08:32 PM

never bet against Tom Brady... former U of M QB... he is awesome. Philly might have had a better chance had they been able to get into their 2 min offense, do they even have one? Good game though, glad it was close at the end instead of just ending 24-14

elim 02-06-2005 08:42 PM

great game!

time management and play calling were horrible on offense! jesus, i don't know but that was just plain awful. that last philly scoring drive took like what almost 4 minutes off the clock? pathetic. and that pass to westbrook? mcnabb should've thrown it at his feet and westbrook should've just knocked it down.

personally, i don't think the pats are going to do as well, next year. i think the reason they do so well is because their coordinators are awesome. they always seem to make the right play calls, especially weis.

kudos to the pats for their 3rd in 4 years, though. that's very impressive. i guess you could call them a dynasty, but they weren't as dominant as the previous dynasty's in the league, not by a longshot.

edit: harrison almost got hurt bad. so close. :(

oh please. you know as well as I do, and everyone else in this thread, that it was just NE's way of mocking terrell owens' "eagle wings" endzone dance / big play dance. i guess when vrabel did it back towards the eagle defense, it wasn't really meaning anything either, right?

alright...alright. He looked hella jumpy back there at times. Look a bit overwhelmed. I'm sure he'll have more chances and make better of it the next time. But whatever. It's over. Enjoy your victory.

troy aikman disagrees with you, he said the way they have done it in this age with the salary cap is better then his cowboys

14 and 2 with a bowl 2 years in a row, and you say they arent dominant?! thats 28 and 4 regular season with two championships... thats dominant

and the loss of the coordinators will suck, but coach bill is good enough by himself, plus im sure he will hire good replacements, but i sure will miss those two guys

i forgot to mention freddy mitchell's greatest feat all game was throwing a huge illegal pick in the middle of the field for a 30 yard owens catch

don't get me wrong, the 3 in 4 cements them as a dynasty. but i mean, how many wins do they have that are 7 points or less in that timespan? like 21? that's hardly dominant to me. sure they win, but the manner in which they win is NOT dominant. the 49ers, Steelers, and Cowboys would absolutely blow teams out of the water. maybe it's the level of players in this day and age, but it just seems like the Patriots wins are not dominant to me.

:werd

mcnabb was the weakest link in this one. that and the play calling. they didn't do enough screens and utilize westbrook enough.

because they are more defense and run oriented i think. but by your logic then yeah they havent been dominant. in my mind, winning = dominant. but it doesnt really matter so we can agree to disagree here

in any event, the right team ended up with the trophy this year. the eagles didn't deserve to win...not with the way they played and were coached.

great, now I have to listen to how awesome the patriots are for at least another 9 months lol

99GApunk 02-06-2005 09:04 PM

well now i dont have to listen to redsox offseason talk for another month or so :) takes the ease off no hockey for me, thats for damn sure

GoBlue30 02-06-2005 09:08 PM

Ok well being unbiased towards either team, I must say the Patriots have been dominant in their own aspect. No they haven't won their Super Bowls like the 49ers/Cowboys did when they won like 55-13 or scores similar in that fashion but those teams played completely different than the Patriots do. New England is content with playing balanced football and relying on a great defense that is always in the right spot to make the play. Look at every other team in the league and their record in games that are decided by 7 points or less then look at the Patriots record. Its damn near, if not, flawless. I'd say thats dominating in its own. It seems like the more pressure there is, the better they play. The 49ers/Cowboys had the type of offense to just keep piling it on. Thats not to say the Patriots can't put up points, they can win games that are shootouts, they can win low scoring games. I think they will miss their coordinators dearly next year but they will still be good. Weis won't be too successful at ND next year but long term he'll have ND back to being an elite Top 10 program unfortunatley since I hate ND. As for Cornell going to the Browns, can the Browns ever win? Geez seems like they are sorta like Tigers in baseball, never win anything. Best of luck if he does end up going there. As long as Belichick stays though and they've got Brady and the rest of their key players signed long term which they do, they'll still contend for the playoffs year in year out and wouldn't surprise me if they win another Super Bowl or 2 in the next couple years.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a rematch of these two teams next year.

TJ95GAGT 02-06-2005 09:11 PM

It was a great game. Congrats to the Pats and thier fans. But there is no way mcnabb is worthless, in this game yes you could say that. But he is the only QB with 30+ TD's and less then 10 INTs in NFL history. They def. had a chance there at the end and I think the coaches dropped the ball on that, no hurry up? WTF? Oh well, theres always next year and the eagles are looking good personnel and cap room wise.

This thread is irrelevant. In general Philly fans of any sport are the most rude, loudmouthed, c0cky idiots I have ever seen. I always root against any Philly team. Thankfully it pretty much always works out. lol

yeah other than on here the philly fans i know are giant douches

Me too, they come to the stadium you're at and they're like a plague, they have to make sure everyone knows they're there, and they sit there cussing everyone out around them, trying to make the local fans feel like **** and trying to start fights, it's quite pathetic.

99GApunk 02-06-2005 09:48 PM

i dont have much eagle fan experience... but the flyer fans are jackasses. its one thing to be a jackass in your home arena, but when youre away, theres some common sense to keeping your mouth shut

OH please.. I can say that about any fans. Football fans are football fans and no one teams fans are worse than others. Except maybe Green Bay fans (jk). And you're making yourself look like a f uckin douche w/ your so called arguments.

And I think you win the award for most obnoxious fan on this thread.

I was way off with my score prediction. What a year for Boston sports fans, i love it

i dont see how you can discredit his personal experiences, you dont know what type of fan he has encountered and stuff and i think you dont think calling someone an obnoxious douche says much to your own character

bryan1727 02-06-2005 10:09 PM

I went to an Eagles game when I was 14, i went with my buddy and his dad. My buddy was a huge fan of the other team and was wearing the other teams hat. He got a beer thrown on him and then his dad got pushed over seats when he said something to the guys. I know this doesn't represent all Eagles fans but thats my only real upclose and personal experience with Eagles fans.

99GApunk 02-06-2005 10:11 PM

i didnt say that either, but some can ruin an image for the masses. sarcasm is also a very obnoxious quality.

i saw a picture on www.boston.com in a series of fan photos where two philly fans dressed as ben franklin... but he was born in massachusetts.... kinda odd choice i think

bryan1727 02-06-2005 10:19 PM

It was really good to see Freddy Mitchell back up his talk.
Rodney had more catches than him hahaha

Did you hear when the female commentator on the field said "A fan said to Mitchell coming off the field "Try to catch something." to which Mitchell replied "I'm trying." lol
At least he didn't get shutout.
