GTgoddess 07-24-2006 05:26 PM

videoman 07-24-2006 08:16 PM

I unfortunatly, have lost the window of time that I had for the install. I thought that ordering back in november and installing in march to june would pose no problems. Well since that time has come and gone I sent in my email today requesting a refund for the 100$ deposit. I am sorry that I have to pull out but the chance came and went. Now I have to concentrate on other things right now.

Good Luck guys!

Grand_Damn 07-25-2006 12:31 AM

when do you think the ship date range is about...i currently dont have the money (i got like 3/4 of it) to pay for it yet....and this is because of my current situation at work.

rickhigginshtbr 08-14-2006 09:26 PM

anyone get any new updates recently? last I heard production should be going on now...

uhm, it's a hood...it's not like you're having to swap an engine. It doesnt take but lossening a few bolts, and then swapping hoods out then putting the bolts back in.

Bouchie11982 08-24-2006 03:55 PM

Ktown....the reason why he said that is because he is tired of waiting. I got mine refunded as well and i completely understand with all the others that are on the verge of getting their $100 back. It'll be almost 1 year waiting for this hood, and still no hoods have been made yet. some people have a better opportunity at getting something else that is readily available.

lightningGA 08-24-2006 03:59 PM

well...I'm still in as of right now and I just emailed them for an update.
I'll post up as soon as I hear anything.

lightningGA 08-24-2006 06:42 PM

I just received this email from the general manager:

Quote:

We are still working with the prototype, and mold. Everything is in position
to start production, we are waiting on a shipment from our composites
supplier for some materials. I can send you some pictures of the mold next
week if you would like, we are working to get this hood done as soon as
possible.

Best Regards,

Will Wolfgram-General Manager

LukeD 08-25-2006 05:32 PM

I'm surprised they couldn't be working on the mold all along, so it's be ready to produce when they get the CF in.

Bouchie11982 08-26-2006 06:59 AM

well i think they would need the material FIRST to test out the mold, BUT when i wanted the SD hood in fiberglass they didn't even have the mold so they are probably working on both the mold and the material

Mendoza 08-27-2006 12:05 PM

The funny thing is that i can get CF shipped to me in 3 days from Select Products in Florida (www.selectproducts.com). I just don't get why it's taking them so long to get the materials in. Sounds like a very unmotivated company.

But can you get single sheets for an entire hood is the question? It's not small orders for smaller parts that's in question. It's sheets large enough to not have to piece together for an item like a hood. Trust me it's not just them...I know as I've been dealing with this CF on and off for the last few years.

tommy00gt1 08-27-2006 01:14 PM

At the rate this is going, it's probably gonna be another few years before this thing materializes, lol...

Mendoza 08-27-2006 01:33 PM

Couldn't tell you how much i could order sik. All i know is that i order CF regular from that company i have gotten a sheet big enough for a hood but never more then 1 order.

GTgoddess 09-26-2006 07:39 AM

ok. any word on this yet? If not........MC Trucker Mouth wants her $100 back!

digitalballz 09-26-2006 08:26 AM

Mendoza 09-26-2006 09:05 AM

lightningGA 09-26-2006 02:22 PM

Wts1277 10-03-2006 07:21 PM

OK finally gave up on waiting i hit cerious up today for deposit refund way to may expenses coming up also does help i just bought a sc/t kit from the forums and took it to be sprayed today... i will be so jealous when this is finished and probably be kicking myself in the a$$..

pyro 10-03-2006 09:24 PM

for once there is a gagt group buy that is dying off not because of no money, but because of seller issues. this is a first i must say. lol

LukeD 10-04-2006 02:40 AM

So how many people are still in? I'm still in for now, as long as it's this year.

ditto.

Mendoza 10-04-2006 07:29 AM

How are they about the refund? Do they just paypal it back or is it a hassle?

lightningGA 10-04-2006 10:07 AM

they just give you a PayPal refund

digitalballz 10-04-2006 04:40 PM

no prob on the refund

rickhigginshtbr 10-04-2006 06:49 PM

any word why it's being delayed farther now?

rickhigginshtbr 11-03-2006 02:36 PM

finally got a reply from them, which confuses me.

The molding has been an issue, this hood is very large and fairly complex. But we are working our best to correct the issues we are having, with our molding method it is hard to put the correct pressure on the mold do to the complexity and size. A spoiler is much easier to mold.

Now, there were no issues with the sc/t hood, right? if the same process is being used, I don't see how there would be an issue with the sd hood. Unless I'm unaware of the process they're using, CF's done with vaccuum bagging, correct?

Edit: I mentioned that I was going to be in on the spoiler buy, I guess they're not as worried about getting those done.

cmtapanes 11-03-2006 03:01 PM

It's been a year since this thread was started and you guys haven't received your hoods. To much excusess from them, if I where you guys I'll claim my refund.

LukeD 11-03-2006 07:50 PM

Here's a question: Can they use the same mold to make both fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods? If so, when the excuse was lack of carbon fiber, couldn't they have at least been working on the mold?

I really would like to get the spoiler replicated, but not only have they not replied to my last spoiler e-mail, but I'm beginning to get a little wary about giving them this one-of-a-kind part until they finish the hoods or as a last resort. Maybe Darren and I can search around the bay area to see if we can find something local, so as to oversee the spoiler's whereabouts and to be able to quickly pull out if it looks like it's going to be taking too long.

Not to say I'm canning the Cerious spoiler idea, just starting to explore other options.

true, but, i got a feeling that it's more due to the process than the mold itself. Like something aint stayin in place like it should be.

If you want to find someone local for the spoiler, go for it. But, keep in mind if worse comes to worse, I won't mind the 3 hour drive to CT to steal it back.

Grand_Damn 11-05-2006 02:12 AM

i'm still in for now...even with the accident last week (which luckly i didnt have on since this is taking forever)

rickhigginshtbr 01-04-2007 09:28 PM

Hopefully in 2 weeks! I can't believe it's actually almost ready.

This project is still going strong, last word from our mold/part maker was that the first hood should be ready to ship in 2 weeks.
