chad johnson got to where he is by being an absolutely amazing wide receiver, he could give harrison a run for his money and he doesnt even have all the experience yet.

with indy's playoff recent history i would say nothing is safe.

but this is why they play the games.
if everything always worked out like it should on paper it wouldnt be very exciting and i would win a lot more office pools

Yeah but I think Indy is a lot better team this year... Why didn't they get to the super bowl the past 2 years? Simple answer: Defense. When you got the best offense in the league, but no defense, you're not going to make it to the super bowl, simply put.

That and Indy always seemed "psyched out" by new england... I always thought the Colts were better than New England, and I always thought Tom brady is the most over-rated qb of all time, however when New England and Indy met, our receivers always seemed to get butterfingers or something...

Thats another major difference of our team this year: They are alot more relaxed, and focused. Its all about winning games, not trying to break a touchdown pass record, or blow opponets away by 60 points a game.

I still think our defense has room to grow, however. We don't have the best defense in the league. Its good, it just seems a bit on and off. ie; where was it during the Cincy game?

Metallman56 12-06-2005 03:51 PM

sorry msjhwt i was just giving you a hard time. no need to take time to look up any links for me. its cool.

i am going to agree with cornmaster on this one. i am not saying indy cant be beat. what i am saying is if they keep playing the way they have been, they wont be beat. sorry cincy but it wont happen. indy is going to have home feild through the playoffs, and when there on terf in the playoffs they just kill people. i.e. denver last year. the game wasnt even close. keep the colts out of the cold, and the playoffs will be won. its that simple. even the superbowl is inside and its driving distance from indy.right now the only team in playoff contention thats closer is my bears. this year is indys time. they are ready for it. they can taste it. and i think they will get it.

i truly beleived the colts in the last playoff meetings against the pats were flat outcoached, maybe it was bill, maybe it was weiss, or maybe romeo, or all of them most likely, but the just had an answer for absolutely everything the colts did. and the WRs kept dropping the ball because everytime they caught it the pats were laying massive hits on them. they definitely got in their heads early.

that being said, im not brady fan, but theres no way you can say a two time superbowl mvp is the most over rated of all time, he won when he had to, and this year he has been carrying the team. so i dont see how he is overrated even tho i dont like him. and he admitted that he is not much of an athelete. but pure talent doesnt make a player great, gotta have the mentality

and in response to your first comment 'st louis rams' simply put :boogie:

im just debating here, not trying to be an *******, sorry if it seems that way.
im also not saying indy isnt the best in the league, they are, but they were also the best last year. hell they are my pick to go to the superbowl this year, but i hope, and do not think they will go undefeated

go 'hawks :)

Metallman56 12-07-2005 03:54 PM

yes the rams are living proof that you can get to the super bowl with a great offence. but lets take a look at the next super bowl. the ravens had NO offence and they were the suepr bowl chaps. then the pats won yippy. then after the the best offence in the nfl and the best defence in the nfl squared off. tampa and the defence won over the raiders. all the colts d needs to do is hold any team under 30 points and they will win in the playoffs. that is inside in the playoffs.

also i think chicago should get a super bowl! they have a new stadium. and that is what detroit did to get a super bowl. now there talking about if kasas city rebuilds or updates they might get a suber bowl. but what about chicago? they would call it the "freeze your nuts off" bowl. then i would love to see like tampa and miami in that game.that would be funny.

Since I'm a Seahawks fan, i'll have to go with the Seahawks meeting up with the Colts. I'm really dissapointed about the last monday night game. It was the most boring game I have ever watch.. I would expect it to be a closer game like the past.

Metallman56 12-07-2005 08:59 PM

ya its easy to win if you get like 5 turnovers.

The NFL hates cold weather, they make too much money of the events surrounding the SB. I love snow games, its such a shame.

I can see it now.... Super Bowl XLII.....in upper Saskatchewan, Canada. Or you could just go the college football route and call it the Capital One/Taco Bell/Pepsi/General Motors Frostbite Bowl.

DrFabulous 12-08-2005 09:30 AM

The Vikings are building a new stadium, and it's going to have a retractable roof just so we can get a superbowl bid. The NFL won't have a superbowl in an outdoor, cold staduim.

Go Vikes. 5-0 with Johnson. :D

Metallman56 12-08-2005 03:31 PM

see but thats bullsh*t! just cause there is no roof over your head doesnt mean you cant have a super bowl. besides real football is played in the cold. not in the foo foo 70* dome. its even crapier is that most teams dont even have a dome. and just because its cold doesnt mean people wont come to the game, or sponcers like miller wont sponcer the game. i think it was the way halas/lambardi(sp) intended the nfl to be. be a man play in the snow.

the anti cold weather superbowls isnt because no one will go to the game, its for the activities and stuff leading up to the game. the nfl brings a lot of money and attention to the cities that host the superbowl

i cant even beleive they are having it in detroit.

but all those ***** teams can have their domes, the pats went out and built an amazing new stadium and said fock the dome we will play in the snow... gotta love it

Cormaster 12-08-2005 05:52 PM

Indy's getting a new stadium in 2008. Its going to be a lot bigger than the RCA dome, and its also going to have a retractable roof. We just signed a 35 year lease with the Colts, and we also are hoping to attract a superbowl here.

Metallman56 12-08-2005 09:23 PM

yeah i agree with gapunk. wasnt the first suepr bowl played in the cold? yeah and my bears built/remodled a great stadium. i think the people of chicago would have killed someone if they put a dome on the thing. its just not the way chicago bears football is played. and with a dome you cant have classics like the ice bowl or the fog bowl. both games are really fun to watch.

DrFabulous 12-08-2005 09:46 PM

I'm excited for the Vikes to play with the roof open. We're in f'in MINNESOTA, there should be snow on the field.

GrahamKracka 12-08-2005 10:44 PM

...playing football in freezing = 10x the pain and much more likely to get injuries cause of the cold weather causing cramps and ****

IanGT99 12-08-2005 11:32 PM

football in freezing weather = 10x as fun to watch. The real football teams come to play in inclement weather. The Steelers just built an incredible new stadium in '03, and I'd LOVE to see a Super Bowl be held there. Plus, there are a ton of other great stadiums out there that will never have a chance.

Metallman56 12-09-2005 03:48 PM

iangt you are a smart man. based on what you just said. i forgot are you a steelers fan? judging from your last post you are. any ways sorry to all the steelers fans this week in advacned. we might cut your playoff run short. but heres the thing. it will be a great defensive game, and it will be IN THE COLD where real teams play. win loose or draw it will be a great matchup.
