Stats are only good for fantasy football. The only thing that really matters is

Pittsburgh 35 :: Detroit 21

The playoffs on the AFC side of the bracket are going to be fun to watch! Steelers, Jaguars, Patriots, Colts, Bengals (at least for one round!!), Denver.....I know the colts are going to be hard to beat...but I think any one of these teams can get into the Superbowl this year.

Metallman56 01-01-2006 09:50 PM

so here is the playoff picture:

AFC

Jacksonville vs New England
Winner takes on Denver

Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati
Winner takes on Indy

NFC

Carolina vs New York Giants
Winner takes on Chicago

Washington vs Tampa Bay
Winner takes on Seattle

negative on the afc at least...INDY will play the lowest seeded team after next weekend and Denver will have the highest seeded team. So if Pitt wins and NE wins...then you're right...but if CINCY wins and NE wins, Indy plays NE since NE is seeded 4th and CINCY is 3rd.

stats are good for many things, another being valid points to bring up when you know ****y steelers fans who think ben is amazing. :) (someone i went to school with, none of you guys)

so heres how the afc side will go

NE over jags
cincy over pitt

indy over NE
ciny over Denver

colts over cincy

NFC (if the above matchups are correct)
carolina over giants
washington over tampa

chicago loses to whichever one they face (hope not tho)
seahawks beat everyone on the way to the superbowl to face the colts

there ya go, no one needs to watch now lol

Like was said, a win is a win. Doesn't matter what Ben or anyone else does as long as the TEAM wins. Stats are just numbers. You can't judge a player's worth on stats alone. The things Ben does on the field shows his character and leadership. That's why I like him. That's why Steelers fans like him. That's why people who are not Steelers fans hate him. Watch out for the Steelers in the playoffs... If Cincy beats them, then they deserve to move on. However, a 34-3 loss in the last game before the start of the playoffs doesn't exactly bode well for the momentum of the Bengals.

Metallman56 01-01-2006 11:48 PM

joker are you sure? i dont think it works that way. but i could be wrong.

Cormaster 01-02-2006 12:03 AM

Yeah I'm kinda feeling the Indy and Seattle thing myself.

He's correct, highest seed faces lowest seed

i just feel handing the ball off doesnt deserve so much credit, he may have composure and whatever else but he is rarely called on to use it. and there have been a couple games i've seen where he has very clearly been the weak spot on that team. but like ive said before, he is a good fit for the steelers. but some annoying fans take it too far, likewise with most teams and certain players so i deal with it. everyone can have their views... as long as they know mine are right lol

and as far as the bengals losing momentum, i dont think that will serve them much of a problem, been a while coming for cincy, they will get amped up fairly easily.

and 'watch out for the steelers in the playoffs' i think that can be said about every team in there this year. each game has potential for upsets and great games

if someone were to ask me who i thought the weakest team in the playoffs was, i would probably say tampa, followed by the steelers, and not just because i dont like them honest. they still have that potential to do well tho and go far

Hell yeah, Dominick Davis is a great back and Lonathan Wells is o.k. as lomg as he is a back up. Carr is used goods, hit in the head to many times. Ive seen him fall down when someone swiped at him. Then either need to get the QB, or trade there pick to get some Linemen.

People said that about the Ravens a few years ago, too. Look what they did. With the teams that are in there this season, it's gonna be a shootout every game. Each team has its strengths and weaknesses. The Steelers' main weakness happens to be our D-backs. That's why we had so much trouble with Cincy the second time around and the Colts. If a team passes on Pittsburgh, that means trouble. Our D-backs haven't been good for years. They are better this year, but still not great. Everyone knows we're going to run the ball. That's our bread and butter. Ben passes when he has to and gets the job done. Everyone knows Indy and Cincy are going to pass the ball. It's what they do. It's all about how the other team reacts to its opponent's strengths and capitalizes on its weaknesses. But I'll hand it to you, 99GApunk, as usual the Pats scare me.

Here's is a stat for you on big ben...21-3 in the regular season. That is a pretty good stat I think. What is he...the second most efficient passer in the league? That's pretty good too. Sure he doesn't have to throw the ball up 40 times a game, but that is steelers football. They didn't go out and get some bungle to help their run game hehe. He'll have his off games (yesterday), but it's a TEAM game.

Tank 01-02-2006 11:53 AM

Buccaneers over Redskins
Patriots over Jaguars
Giants over Panthers
STEELERS over Bengals

This is how next weekend will play out watch.

Metallman56 01-02-2006 12:51 PM

Bucs
Panthers
Steelers
Pats
