seriously, this has been the worst officiated postseason i have ever seen.

i mean pitt earned the win as much as seattle gave it away. but a chopblock on a tackle?????!! what the **** is that??

and pitt didnt have a single holding penalty all game, that just doesnt happen in football

congrats steelers fans.

at least i won a square for 300 bucks :)

what a dull superbowl tho, missed and dropped passes, terrible interceptions

99GApunk 02-05-2006 08:01 PM

hey did you guys know bettis is from detroit? i heard that somewhere

elim 02-05-2006 08:07 PM

I'll tell you what, officiating or not, Jeremy Stephens is cut. So many crucial dropped passes, and then doesn't do everything he can to get out of bounds...talk about choking in the moment.

edit: And what really ****es me off, is you won't hear anything being said about how horrific the officiating was...I can't stand that.

99GApunk 02-05-2006 08:42 PM

youve never seen anything like that? they've done it in almost every game or every other game this year.

didnt they do something similar against the colts? maybe im thinking bengals

Lets see:

1.) Roethlisburger's rushing TD that wasn't.
2.) The pushoff that wasn't to takeaway a Seattle TD.
3.) The holding that wasn't that cost the Seahawks a 1st down at the Steelers 1 and an eventual interception...terrible.
4.) The chopblock that wasn't against Hasselbeck on the said interception...terrible.
5.) The timeout that wasn't, when the playclock clearly went to 0 before any Steeler mentioned for a TO...and wouldn't you know the Steelers just get the first down with enough yardage (but a 5 yard penalty would've had them come up short...)

More to come, most likely...

you forgot the two offsides, one was the one he got called for holding on, and the other led to a sack, neither was called. sure looked offsides

Was a decent game. the score i predicted was almost there, 6pts off lol. The reffing was terrible indeed. As far as the trick play, the steelers do that more than any other team i nthe league. not that exact play but they are known for their trick plays. Everyone was raving about bettis deserving the win there but i dont care about him i think cowher deserved it. Either way was a great game, alot of funny commercials and funny stuff during play. Anyone catch the pic by the seahawks and when they zoomed in on him returning it and number 99, some lineman for the seahawks was running full speed then alll of a sudden grabbed his leg and fell, was the funniest crap EVER then later Michele Tafoya said it looked like he got sniped out lol sooooooooo funny.

99GApunk 02-05-2006 09:35 PM

i was very dissapointed with troy palalalalalalamaaalllo's play, he got blown up for a couple big gains and one touchdown. i think he plays too fast for himself sometimes, overunning plays and crossing himself up. he needs to play more controlled

Maybe I'm going to be the only one to say I thought the officiating wasn't too bad.

Bens TD....whatever it was called on the field was going to stand, the replay didn't show ANYONE where that ball was right before his elbow touched down. It was inconslusive, and on a replay inconclusive dosen't let you overturn something. The 'Skins got ****ed over on that call vs Tampa with Alstots 2-pt conversion. The NFL needs a chip in the ball like they're doing with soccer to see WHEN the ball crosses the plain, rather than waiting for the line judge to run over and signal a call.

The Offensive PI...I'm sorry but the PI call was correct. If you don't want to be called don't push off, simple as that; espically if you are standing two feet in front of the ref then it's really very important that you do NOT push off. The argument that he didn't push hard or "it was a little contact" doesn't fly. Arm extending into the players body resulting in each player moving in opposite directions = PI call every time.

The only really bad call is the chop block called on Hasselback.

Seattle allowing a 75 yd run, throwing that pick deep in their own territoy, Jacksons inability to stay inbounds on catching the ball, that lost them the game, not the officals.

on ben's touchdown what bothers me is not that it wasnt overturned, but that the line judge came running in to spot the ball THEN decided it was a touchdown well after he had already signaled it wasnt

my gripe on the offense PI was that later in the game ward gave a shot to a seahawks shoulder to push off, and it appeared to me just as obvious as the one in the endzone, but no call, gotta call it both ways

i dont think anyone will say the officials blew the game for seattle, seattle did that. but you just cant have this horrible level of oficiating in playoff games and especially the superbowl!

2002GT 02-05-2006 10:52 PM

take the touchdown away from ben... they still won :)

congrats jerome!

Agreed I thought it was odd when the Line Judge did that.....but we play a game where millimeters determine First Downs/touchdowns, and a refs eyeball where the ball should be spotted every down. The NFL really needs to invest in technology to make football a true "game of inches".

I missed the Randel El push off, if that did indeed happen it should be called both ways your right.

SPeaking of Randel El, anyone see that rediculous hit he took, they showed him grabbing his back then went to a commercial break and never mentioned his injury report and he didnt play again till the 4th quarter, me and my freinds were convinces he might be paralyzed lol...

I was thinking the same thing. It was weird how they didnt mention it after the commercial break.

MSJHWT 02-06-2006 12:14 AM

And 99 actually said Ward pushed off and somehow I mixed him up with Randle El lol

Get ****ed when they don't call the penalty then, not when they do call it. Enforcing a rule isn't bad officiating.
The same thing happened to us in the Seattle - Washington Playoff game. Jimmy Farris caught a 59-yd TD pass in the second quarter, and Offensive PI was called.

Graxall 02-06-2006 09:03 AM

im sorry but are you still talking about the colts? jesus man

IanGT99 02-06-2006 11:32 AM

seriously...last time i checked, the colts weren't in the super bowl last night. i know you're making your case for your team, but enough is enough, man.

anyway, the game last night wasn't the best game in the world. the officials had some iffy calls, but they still did a fairly decent job considering everyone in the world was criticizing them because it was the super bowl. the steelers kept seattle back with defense, and did what they had to on offense to win. simple as that. now on to the pro bowl and looking forward to spring training!

ONE FOR THE THUMB, BABY!!!!
