every o-line holds, if you hold and your hands are inside the shoulders than it will never be called. offensive linemen (and defensive) are taught this from the start since before high school.

the patriots o-line played without 3 or more starters almost all season and was still one of the best in the league :) doesnt matter how they did it, they did it

I'm going to continue to root them on to have some awesome seasons...but as soon as the season's over, I'm just going to accept fact from fiction now...thats it. As long as we keep this Colts team together, they will always be an awesome, and entertaining team to watch during regular season play... hell they have been for about 6 years now! However they just aren't a playoff caliber team. As soon as the intensity gets turned up, they fall apart.

I'm going to keep that in mind for next season, so I don't get my heart broke like this year. The NFL is only getting tougher. The bengals are on the rise, Jacksonville is on the rise, New England will still be tough, and Pitsburgh will still be tough. Regular season should be awesome...post season will be non existant! yeah GO COLTS!

One of the best post season weekends I have ever seen. My favorite teams won just as i said(GO STEELERS), but as much as I love THE STEELER, I cant honestly say who is going to win the game next weekend. Carolina will beat the seahawks. This years SB will be Great.

I'll be rooting Denver on next weekend... My dad called me and said we need to root on the steelers because my mom is from Clarion PA... I said screw that, I hate the steelers, and refuse to root for them. I think this is the 3rd time now they've kept us out of the superbowl.

Only hope I have for "next year" is that we don't give up any more games... the only explanation for the 6th seed beating the first seed is "rust". I dunno, it doesn't make sense at all... Was that really the Colts or the Houstan Texan in colts player costumes? by the way the played if I didn't know better I might of believed that last statement...

Though I gotta give props to Jim irsay, the colts owner, for going out there and giving fans hope for a new season. He addressed the crowd following the game, and said its hard to see them go down after such a great season but don't loose faith because they will get their trophey!

I hope he's right. I, for one, am starting to loose faith.

plummer couldnt remain calm against the pats and he had much more time and chances than the steelers will give him. steelers should be able to hold the run almost as good as the pats did

well I have to admit its hard to hate Pitsburgh when your team just came out and played their worst game of the season... and pitsburgh honestly probably played their best game of the season. I don't think Denver has enough weapons to beat 'em, so they'll probably be this years superbowl champs. Bummer...

On a positive note, with all the fairweather fans in this town, now might be an ideal time to stock up on colts merchandise... it'll probably all be clearanced out tommorrow.

well what can i say? what a sh*tty day of football. the colts was a mega disapointment, and someone needed to tell the bears defence there was a game today. its kinda funny the bears are my team, but i think i was more disapionted in the colts. i guess i really thought the colts were going to take it all this year. guess i was wrong. it was a really great game though. had the bears not have been expected to go like 6-10 this season i would have been more dissapionted. but even though we lost i think we still proved something to the league. that is rex grossman is a much better qb then anyone thought. and if our o plays as well as they did tonight, then the playoffs alot easier to get in.

well there isn't much more to say about today... obvious interference on randle el on a big pass play and the INT that got overturned, two horrible calls


the steelers came out and totally shocked the colts with the pass..ben went 6-7 on the first drive, should have been 7-7 if randle el caught the first pass, and scored while only running twice for like 0 yards. the colts were playin the run off the bat and they gave them a complete 180. the steelers got a good rush and dint let manning get comfortable and that is the only way to beat him.

bettis fumbles on the 1 with less than 2 minutes in possibly his last game, then mike v misses a clutch field goal! two things u will prolly never see again

randle el made up for his first miss with that catch in the endzone... that was a bad pass

add that to troy brown muffing a punt(around here is considered to be as probable as larry bird missing 2 free throws in a row with the game on the line... aka wont happen). the worst pass intereference call in playoff history. and a large tight end running over 110 yards total distance to clean champ bailey's clock. (by the way how can champ bailey say he was completely out of gas while watson ran further and full speed nailed him... if you ask me he was just jogging because he thought he was home free, dont blame him tho, he got blindsided)

There is no way he "ran out of gas" who runs out of gas a few yards from the end zone?. Even the other denever blockers who were running with him had stopped running hard and were kind of celebrating. Great play by Watson, would have been even better if they made the right call and called it a touchback.

Well, I guess everything that could be said about the Steelers/Colts game has been said. I would like to note the "if Ben throws more than 20 passes, the Steelers will lose" comment. Not true. People don't give him enough credit for being an extremely accurate passer. When the Steelers need someone to pass in clutch situations, I don't think there's any other QB in the league I'd want back there besides maybe Tom Brady. There were a couple bad calls (Polamalu's INT being the worst), but all-in-all it was a very entertaining game. I feel bad that Dungy didn't get farther due to all the stuff that's happnened, but I'm ecstatic that the Steelers are still peaking now. Next week vs. Denver will be very tough again. But I really think this is the year a #6 seed gets to the big game. Carolina is in the same boat as the Steelers. They are playing better than they have all season right now. The two conference championship games next week will be incredible. I'm going to go with a Pittsburgh/Carolina Super Bowl.

By the way, I didn't break anything skiing this weekend. I only fell four times and two of them weren't my fault. This little girl was going 80 mph and cut me off = fall number one. Also, when I got off the lift one time, I thought we were going left, but my girlfriend abruptly said to go right. I overcompensated = fall number two. The other two times consisted of me going down a slope too fast that was too steep and also darting through the woods (didn't mean to....just sorta happened). Now I feel like my lower body got run over by a moving van.

Nothing against Watson that was one of the best hustles Ive ever seen in any sport ever. Trust me on this one, you try to cover a fast as s#*t reciever get an interception in the endzone and run it 102 yard after a half of football. He should have held the ball better but I can see him running out of gas.

well the route was only 5 yards, watson ran further and faster for the whole time, thats my point, i know its tough not to be out of breath, i sure as **** couldnt make it halfway lol

well i might be half right with my begining pic of the steelers and bucs. i also said i like carolina. at this point i am going for denver, but really couldnt care either way. the wind has really been taken out of my sails. i thought atleast one of my teams would make it. damn the luck.

Thats how i feel. I'm looking on foward to the next season... I'm looking for the Colts defense to get tougher, and the league in general to get alot tougher... I think the easy schedule for the Colts got the best of them overall... it really was an inevitable 13-0 start... as at that point the only so called "real" teams were a crippled new england, a rising star cincy, and a rusty Ben rothlisberger based Pitsburgh...

I know i haven't given them their due credit... and now I am. Honestly, the colts had an easy time with them last time due to the Rust. Ben's first game back, and he was powerless... Peyton managed to catch them off guard with one long TD Pass, but it wasn't exactly a big day for offense that day either. Pitsburgh's Defense was tough. We got 2 touch downs by catching the D off guard the first time, and by an interception the second time...the rest of the time Pitsburgh's D limited us to only field goals.

had Ben been full strength, it would of been a long day for the Colts...and either team could of won. In a way I am kind of hoping they go the whole way this year, as they had their dream season shattered in 2004-05, and now they are finally getting a chance to finish it. I'm hoping its a sign that maybe Indy can pick up the slack next year. And it will a much more challenging year for the Colts. The schedule was just too damn easy this year. The teams in bold are teams I look to give the colts either losses or tough games...needless to say screw undefeated status... the undefeated thing ruined the superbowl run, as it basically gave the Colts a 1 month vacation, and made them a bit to cokky, and little pitsburgh, going in there with a 5 game momentum and nothing to loose to a team expecting them to play a "typical running game" changed the game up completly on them!

Next year... things will be different...but I wouldn't bet money on it, lol

Expect to hear a lot less S**t talk next year!

edit: heres what I think Indy needs for a succefull season next year. The defense has to become stronger... it went from #28 to #11, but I won't be satisfied till its in the top 5. And for godsakes the Offensive line needs to be tougher. Also I'll admit it, Peyton needs to relax, and let Dungy call more shots... I think the ultimate game deciding factor was Peyton trying to throw a touchdown pass on 3rd and 2 when he needed to just give it to james and get the first down.

Biggest problem for the Colts next year, IMO, is Free Agency.
They won't be able to keep everyone they'd like to, I see them loosing Wayne definetly, among others, thier whole list of UFA just make it hard for them to stay under the cap giving all these guys the money they'll deserve with Peyton and Harrisions contracts, so some of these guys won't be back:
James, Wayne, Vanderjagt, Brock, Tripplett, DaThornton, Morris.

I dunno I'm trying to remain optimistic, but the blew it! people say I'm not giving pitsburgh enough credit, but realistically the colts lost it for us, not pitsburgh! They went out there and played like complete @$$. Peyton refused to ever try and run the ball untill they were up 14 points! Then we got screwed out of a touchdown because someone on our offensive line flinched, and gave us a false start.

I'm giving them ONE MORE YEAR, and then I'm giving up on them till they find a new coach and quarterback... They lost this game because of their absolute cokkiness! they rested the starters for nearly a month, then returned to practice TUESDAY BEFORE THE GAME! then the injured defensive players that have been resting since the jaguars game that put us at 13-0 didn't return till thursday! in the meantime pitsburgh's running off a 5 game momentum, studying us like crazy, they even came out and said WE AREN'T GOING TO ALLOW ANY BIG PLAYS! PEYTON YOU DUMB @$$ WHY DID YOU KEEP TRYING TO MAKE BIG PLAYS!

They really let the city of indianapolis down... Like I said I'm giving them one more year, but next year I'm thinking they aren't going to have as much support from the Indy fans... Ticket prices may go down, and less games may be telivised, cuz I really doubt they are going to sell out games now! The whole city feels stabbed in the back by the colts...and I can't blame anybody. It was our year...it was our year to shine at the superbowl!

More I think about it maybe we need a better coach... Tony Dungy is known for awesome season records and horrible playoff records... and yeah it was his fault the team wasn't prepared for the game.

EDIT: I'd like to sit hear and at least say "well they did come back at the end of the game, and almost won it" but I can't even say that because had it not been for a bad call, It would of been a bloodbath by pitsburgh! Troy did get that interception, it as clear as day... I mean honestly if they would of won I coulda cared less since 10 years it was the same thing, except Pitsburgh got the good calls and indy got the SH*T calls. Turnabout is fair play, but needless to say now it ****es me off because the team didn't make an honest comeback...they cheated to bring the game within 3 points... otherwise I could of honestly seen the Pitsburgh O getting another touchdown. Final score woulda been Pitsburgh 28, Indy 10!

The whole reason I don't like most sports fans is because they give up on their team when they suck. I may be a Yankees fan first and foremost, but I'm just as much of a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, too. I'm also a Penguins fan. Do you really think I enjoy seeing those two teams suck harder than a Hoover vacuum cleaner? No, but I don't care. I'm still a fan. I don't give the Pirates "one more year and then I'm done with them." If you're going to be a fan of a team, be a true fan for life. Don't get ****ed because they lose a few games they were maybe "supposed to win" or "should have won." It's all about loyalty. If you're going to disown the Colts and you think the city of Indianapolis will be more hesitant to support the Colts as much because they lost a playoff game after an amazing season, then that sucks.

I ain't given up on them, just a little ****ed on how that game went out.

Its no doubt though they did underestimate pitsburgh.. It definitly shows what a good coach bill cowher is though. He came up with the blueprin to destroy 'em and it worked!

My faith is coming back slowely but surely... Someone brought up the Denver Bronchos and John Elway... Maybe Peyton Manning is more of a John Elway than a Dan Marino!

you win playoff games by changing and adapting based on what the other team is doing. indy didnt change a damn thing even after they looked like **** the whole first half, even when Ben was obviously hurt and not throwing the ball, the were still dropping linebackers into coverage

Anyway Indy does this every year...they go into the playoffs and choke...they never seem to play as the same team that kicks everybody's @$$ during the season. I'm just going to keep on watching... The colts are young, they got plenty of time left. I'm thinking after this year, they'll finally go in to the playoffs ready next year. honestly this year it was undefeated or nothing... I was a 100% confident they'd be in the superbowl, till the loss to San Diego...after that I just kinda new "its all over".

Now I acctually believe in momentum... like my boss at work said "you take a month off your job, are you going to be as good when you get back?" Meanwhile pitsburgh's busting their ass just to make it into the playoffs... momentum won!

Hope they go all the way to the superbowl now! Though I do like denver, wouldn't mind seeing them make it either, but honestly pitsburgh played better last week then Denver. Denver beat New England because New England played like Indy, lol.

Kinda agree kinda not. I feel taking the last game of the season off and then the bye week would have helped them. They shouldn't have sat all them games. But, look at the skins, because the last 5 games were all ''playoff'' type games to make sure they made the playoffs, they were down to third string O-linemen, Portis was bangd up, Brunell was banged up, Pratice Squad WRs, CBs who were banged up, etc etc. It would've been hella nice to have 2 weeks off there to rest and recoupe players. However, a month might be a bit too long.

Yeah I think the bye woulda been allright...after all the colts did stomp new england coming off a bye... but I think they took too much time off.

I understood Resting Robert Mathis and Corey Simon. If they are injured then yeah rest them, but you might as well keep the rest of the starters in for a half.

Who knows what their problem is. Hopefully they'll figure it out next year.

Hate the Steelers althought I do admit Rothliesberger is money so I am going with Panthers/Broncos....Panthers to win it all.

If the panthers win it, it would be the first time in a while that the NFC won....

I don't really care who wins overall... as far as I'm concerned, Colts aren't going to be in it, so the Super Bowl has been canceled...still debating if I"m going to watch the games tommorrow, as well as the big game.
