does everyone who is picking the panthers know that they dont have their starting running back?
which means my boy lofa tatupu (he played for our rivals back when i was in HS) is going to be all over the middle of the field and maybe in on the delhomo a lot. seahawks, steelers.... even tho it pains me to pick either team from the afc, i would have rather had indy go to the superbowl |

You know as well as I do that you'll be watching the games today and the Super Bowl. I did the same thing last year when the Steelers got put out by the Pats. There are pretty much three days a year that there is every excuse to get completely wasted... New Years, Fourth of July, and the Super Bowl. True, there are others, but those are the best three I came up with right now... lol |

wooohooo!!! Steelers!!!!
|
For all those who doubted the Steelers, I give you the AFC championship! And even tho I am drunk, I am driving to Detriot in 2 weeks because we are invading the Motor City babbyyyyyy!!
GO STEELEERRRRSS!!! |
well i was right with my steelers pick. the wait is now over. seattle and pit. and to be honest, much like the last 20 super bowls, i could care less who wins. i will say that pit looks like the team to beat.

oh and about carolina being without their running back, and alexander being fine and MY BOY LOFA TATUPU!!!! i hate to say it... wait no i dont lol told ya so so this week i was two for two, and altho indy didnt make it like i picked way back in the day i still have the winner i picked at least making the superbowl. and i actually had a cousin of mine put a bet down in vegas back in preseason, seahawks to win it all... now i might pick them to lose since i never win anything that way im covered both ways lol |
I think most people don't know how well Seattle does at home... I thought it would be a close one but I didn't think the Seahawks would do this well against the Panthers... I keep hearing how Steve Smith would give Seattle a hard time. 5 rec and 33 yards? LOL
|
I must say that I was suprised with the Panther's inability to do much of anything today. But, I did pick Seattle a while back to be in the Super Bowl. Of course I wanted the Steelers to be there, too, but I took the easy road and went with Indy. I secretly beat myself with a bamboo chute today for doubting my Black and Gold. The Steelers will win Super Bowl XL. STEELER NATION, UNITE!!!! lol
|
I watched both games today...
I must say what is it with the playoffs this year? Every game seems like it consists of one team playing their ass off, and the other team choking! Anyway the steelers and bronchos game played out pretty much like the steelers and colts game. I predicted pitsburgh would win, but I expected it to be much more of a battle than it acctually was. Old "Jake the Mistake" returned for this one. But I'm not dogging on the steelers...they did a good job. I have to admit that after all they've accomplished its turned me into a fan, and now the Steelers are officialy my 3rd favorite team, with the Colts being first, and the Bengals being second, both of which being teams that the Steel Curtain fell upon... As for the other game, Carolina played like total @$$ and seattle appeared to be a much better team than I expected. I thought I was watching Colts vs. Tennesee, lol. I feel stupid for predicting Carolina to win, but guess we are all wrong sometiems. I didn't really follow either team, I was going off the fact that Seattle seemed kinda weak when they played a depleteed Colts squad. Guess I was wrong... Honestly makes it hard to predict a winner for the Super Bowl... both teams seem evenely matched... But it should make for a good epic memorable game regardless of the outcome. I'm rooting for the Steelers... Hopefully Jerome Bettis can retire with his ring! Go Steelers |
^^ same here, the pitt./den. wa great , but the Seattle game was a crying shame.
It looked like Carolina didnt even want to play. I fell asleep after the first 7min. One thing I will say is that Seattle suprised the heck out of me. There defence played an outstanding game. If the same team shows up in the SB, it will be a good game. Pitt. is still going to win though:D . |
Honestly I think from what I've seen, these teams seem to be the only teams that have kept their cool the whole time through... they were the only ones in "playoff mode" so they both deserve it... I'm hoping both can keep the cool in the superbowl and give us a game worth watching... I thought last years was kinda weak...neither new england nor philly seemed to be playing that well.
I think the steelers are quite a bit more powerful than the seahawks, so I think they'll do it. A team that barely made it into the playoffs, now look how far they've come? They definitly deserve it now... and i know my family in Clarion, PA is going nuts right now, so for their sake I hope they can pull of a big W at the super bowl! |
Carolina and Wash were extremeley similar teams.
Both have 1 on fire reciever not much else, both depleted at running back. Steve Smith dropped a couple when he was thrown to, and was triple-quadrouple covered the rest of the time, ala Moss. No running game, and other recievers couldn't do ****. Big difference was Wash D showed up, Carolinas D didn't show up. |
I think Pitsburgh will be fine in the Super Bowl... They no doubt have one of the best coaches in the league... Tony Dungy would be wise to go out to lunch with him and Bill Bellicheck, maybe get some tips. Of course I'm sure they don't want to give away their secrets...
I hope the Colts can work out their bugs next year...this city really needs a superbowl. I'm confident they'll come out as one of the top AFC teams again, and get a 1rst, 2nd, or 3rd seed in the playoffs, I just hope they can figure out how to win playoff games! They've come along way though... I remember when they were what the Housten Texans are now! Now I know what you guys mean when you say "the colts were outcoached"... definitly in this situation! |
*ahem....*
SEAHAWKS FTW!!!!! |

denver looked like more **** then they did against the pats, and they didnt look good then either! both games were upsetting to me as far as quality goes |
^^ I was gonna say the same thing. Pittsburgh destroyed Denver. Made them look like a bunch of nothing.
|
yeah that game sucked. The Colts put up more of a fight... and so did the Bengals for that matter. Acctually the Bengals probably put up the best fight against Pitsburgh.
|
My bad, I said it was great because Pitt. dominated the game. I might have jumped the gun a little calling it a great game. That was the crazy fan talking.

I hope this super bowl turns out to be a great one. I know its not what most people wanted and or expected. I'll be watching though!
|
|
god i hate the steelers lol, i wouldnt mind seeing bettis get a ring tho, but i want to see lofa tatupu get one with the seahawks his rookie year (shoulda won defensive rookie of the year for sure)
should be a good game |
I couldn't watch that video...the moves on the colts hurt too much... I still have that game stuck in my head everyday, and still have nightmares about it... it was like all my nightmares came true...and all week before the game I just knew that it was the Colts last game of the season... I just denied it, and sure enough, history repeated itself for a 4th season straight!
I am giving the Steelers credit for their win, but understand this: The Colts are better, and had they been prepared and in game mode, the outcome would of been different. I give Pitsburgh credit for changing their game plan, but realistically the Steelers didn't look all that tough to me...their consistancy and lack of mistakes are why they are where they are now. They are a good team, and they are superbowl calber, no doubt, but keep in mind when they played the Colts, the Colts showed up as the Housten Texans! Seeing all you steeler fans go nuts, I know it must be awesome...and I'd really like to know what it feels like, and i'd really like to have been downtown to see how a city reacts when your team wins a superbowl. Every year, its always next year. Whether it be Colts, or Pacers, its always next year. It is extremely hard not to be a fairwhether fan here, because after 12 years after the Pacers rose up as if to say "hey Nba watch out, we are a threat to the title now!" Its never our year here! The Colts haven't won a Superbowl since they were in Baltimore...and that was like 10+ years before I was even born! I'm still keeping faith, and I'm even thinking of getting a Blue Horse shoe tatoed on my arm, but seriously they don't win next year, its going to be really hard to root them on the next year... I mean its like a girlfriend who keeps cheating on you...how long can you stay faithful? I'm not the only one who feels this way. Check it out http://www2.indystar.com/images/grap...lls/index.html |
wow....you're definately a fair weather fan. No true fan would ever give up lol. Look at me. Last time anyone won something in the philly area it was 1983. 23 years ago. Last time the Eagles won a superbowl? Yep never. I'm still rooting for them just as the first day.
|
but seriously, if 13 wins straight can't get you to the superbowl...than what can?
I think all us Colts fans are just in shock from it all.... The superbowl just needs to get over with, then we can all forget about football for about 6 months, then by the time the next season starts, we won't care anymore. I'm sure if they choke next year I'll be saying the same thing, then the superbowl will come, and go, then 6 months will pass, and as soon as the NFL season starts, I'll be watching them again. I'm not a fairweather fan more or less just a frustrated fan. If I was fairweather, I wouldn't continue to keep up with the Pacers who completly suck at the moment (and keep in mind i Don't even like basketball that much). Besides, though I like some other teams in the NFL at the moment, I couldn ever root any other team on over mine. |
pittsburgh hasn't won a superbowl for like 30 years, and have lost one since and made it to a plethora of afc championships and got beat everytime....so its a very exciting time in pittsburgh this year
and oh yea, downtown was fockin crazy after we won! |
This article does give us Colts fans some hope:
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl.../1100/SPORTS03 I guess I just need to keep the faith... the colts are a damn good team, and besides a few minor adjustments, the same team will be back next year, and most likely they'll be even better... Dungy is an excellent Coach, and he's won our division 3 times straight! We are defintily one of the best teams in the NFL... and I think it would be a safe bet to say the Colts will win the superbowl within the next 3 years. Seriously every year I'm like this after they loose... but then when football season starts again, I'm just as psyched as I was the year before! |
That's the spirit. As a lifetime Pittsburgh fan, and I think Zac can back me up here, it hasn't always been easy to be a Steelers fan. There have been times that I've been so mad that I've wanted to jump out of a six-story building. I was 13 when the Steelers last went to the Super Bowl in '96. That was the year Neil O'Donnel threw a three-yard pass that needed to be five yards, and we lost Super Bowl XXX. Of course, there have been plenty of other times that have been terrible, but many, many more that have been great. As a football fan, you take all the bad with all the good. The Colts are a great team. They'll figure it out one day and make it to the big game eventually. I know for me, seeing the Black and Gold get to the Super Bowl this year has been worth the last decade of frustrations.

easily:applause: and you forgot about the horrible interceptions he threw that game, i only hope that ben doesnt do sumthin like that |
I think they'll do fine... Cowher's an excellent coach, and rothlisberger's ben nearly flawless through his playoff run.

*knock on wood*

enjoy your time, but beware of the rematch next year....

lol! Good pose there. Yeah the offensive line was total S**t that day... Thats definitly going to need some improvement if we are ever going to win a championship... but considering Peytons comments about the line have made such a nationwide fuss, I think its definitly going to be an issue next year.
The more I think about it, the whole city's been too hard on them... San Diego exposed their weakness, and in the middle of working on fixing those problems, BAM tragedy struck. Regardless of how Dungy says he's handling the suiicide of his own son, he's obviously torn up inside. Honestly I think the Colts would of been a lot more prepared for the meeting had it not happened. In reality a playoff loss is an easy fix in comparison to a family member loss, especially a son. I know me for one, would not be able to do my job as well for quite a while. Maybe the loss was fate... Dungy definitly deserves a vacation after what he's been through. Next season I see several changes that need made in order for the Colts to win: #1. Dungy needs to step in and take full coaching responsibility, and reduce Peyton's power. #2. Defense must become stronger! #3. Offensive line needs upgraded! #4. Colts are horrible on special teams. After all, the housten texans were able to return a punt on us... that definitly says a lot about how bad they are. They take care of those things (which I'm sure they will) they'll do fine. |
