deion branch. and he had 5 catches for about 60 yards and a touchdown against the colts
johnson should have at least 80 and a touchdown is my predicition... or if they really gang up on him, look for the 2nd and 3rd receivers to get open across the middle behind the linebackers a lot... with johnson pulling the safety deep

Metallman56 11-15-2005 09:18 PM

johnson isnt going to have alot of time. freeny (sp) will rush his passes and he will not have time for a rec check down.

I agree with you about the Steelers/Ravens, my friend. All the announcers and everyone else in the world thought it would be a light snap for the Steelers. One of the announcers even said, "If there was ever a game in the NFL that the winner could be easily picked before the game, it would be this one." Yeah, thanks for the jinx... lol
The Steelers are a very weird sort of team this year. They play like a Super Bowl team against really good squads (Bengals) but can't hack it against crappy teams (Ravens). They also seem to play a lot better on the road as opposed to at home. If they can just keep their team healthy, which they're having a real tough time doing right now, they'll be there in January and maybe even February. Their depth is keeping them afloat now.
Anyways, that just goes to show you that ANY team can win on any day in the NFL. Hell, the Colts may just beat the Bengals, Steelers, Jags, Seahawks, etc. and get BEATEN by a 2-7 team. I guess all this speculation is really worthless until we actually see what happens for the rest of the season. But, I agree with you, Metallman. The Colts will be beaten, but it's just a matter of who does it. Like has been said, it may come in the last few games of the season after the Colts clinch the division so they can rest their starters for the playoffs.

they said that about freeney or however you spell it getting to brady, but you didnt hear his name all night until the very end, and that was even in obvious passing situations

Metallman56 11-16-2005 03:35 PM

thats because the pats have a great o line. and it shows in bradys abillity to throw the ball. also i think that bill belicheck (sp, i know thats way off) has the colts figured out. he knows when and how freeny gets to a qb, and my guess is that he wasnt about to see his qb go down to injury like his 'D".

iangt99 you are a good man.i am glad you understand what i am saying. i will be more surprised if the colts dont get beat then when vasher ran back that touchdown on sunday. also its true any team can beat any other team on any given sunday. wow that was hard to say. take example the giants loosing to the vikings, the pack uppseting the falcons, and tampa loosing to the 9ers. also i think the falcons are the same kinda team pit is turning into. do great against good teams, suck against bad ones. personally i think thats its coaching, and egos, but i dont have any proof of either. the important thing is the bears are looking really good this year. i'm sure carolina will break there 5 game winning streak but thats ok. as long as we beat the packers this year, i will be fine with a 8-8 season. playoffs or not!

Metallman56 11-20-2005 09:22 PM

DA BEARS!!!! i dont care what anyone says the bears "d" is the best in the nfl! i was at the game and it was truely awsome. we have finally proved that we can beat a good team. go bears!
i will post again about the other games this week. and what happend to pit?

the ravens D happened to pit.

cincinatti blew a chance when they went for a 4th down early instead of kicking a field goal, that and a pretty BS pass interference call killed their game if you ask me.

i know the bears defense is great, trust me i have them in two fantasy leagues... but delhomo didnt help his own cause much, smith has well over 100 yards again and you still cant put it in the endzone??? messin up my fantasy team i tell ya.

oh and SF keeping the seattle game close made the office pool roll over another week :) next week is up to almost 5 grand :woot:

edit: freeney got pretty much thrown down the whole game again... looks like peole are learning how to toss him down since he comes in so fast and off balance quite often.
so much for indy;s big bad defense this week

IanGT99 11-21-2005 12:04 AM

Pittsburgh flat out sucked today. They couldn't get their running game going and Tommy Maddox played the whole game. he may have had 250 yards passing, but that doesn't tell all the other things he screwed up. He called all three of the Steelers' timeouts on plays where he thought the offense wasn't lined up right instead of saving them for crunch time. The third was called with 13 minutes left in the fourth. He also doesn't know how to get rid of the ball when he's pressured. He got sacked six times officially, but it was more like 24. The Ravens D just swamped the Steelers today. They made the plays and got it done...simple as that. If the Steelers don't do a complete overhaul, they don't have a chance against the Colts.

badboy2451 11-21-2005 08:07 AM

word...steelers offense looked like **** sunday. they couldn't get anything going besides one touchdown drive and that was about it. maddox just doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL quarterback anymore; cant step up in the pocket, cant get outta the pocket to make more time, and def have no pocket presense what so ever. he just has this stupid look in his eyes like hes had more concusions than troy aikman. the steelers mixed it up a little bit by putting randle el in at quarterback for a couple plays, but overall the offense looked like sh!t.

the pittsburgh defense looked very good tho, although they gave up some points in the first half, i think they gave up a total of like 30 yards in the second half and cuaused 2 turnovers

bens knee was only supposed to be a 2 weeks injury, but its now been three weeks and some people are still skeptical if he will be back for the colts game. IMO, there is not a chance in hell that he will miss this game, considering that it has the fixing of being the biggest monday nite game in NFL history and the steelers cant afford to lose another game. comes to show that ben is a hugh part of the team, and our offense is based around the big playmaking and pocket presense that he has

Metallman56 11-21-2005 03:48 PM

pits d should of had a good game. they played the ravens! i am not so sorry to say that if pit cant get it together the colts are just going to roll over them. as for ben he needs pit as much as pit needs him.

i think the 9ers might be a better team than what people think of them. they have started 3 or 4 qbs this year alone. and most of there games come down to only a few points. they just need to find away to win games.

how about those cards in the upset against the rams? i think warner going up against a d he knew inside and out helped out just a bit.

i called t.b over atlanta. got made fun of for it but this morning when i got to work no one had anything to say.

what the hell is going on in washington? perhapes one of the skins fans can tell me that. not looking to good here of late.

good luck in your work pool 99GApunk! if you need any help feel free to ask.

i agree, tampa over atlanta, especially with atlanta being points favorites was the easiest pool pick of the week

MSJHWT 11-21-2005 07:40 PM

The skins suck lol
I just listed my Chargers tickets on eBay

The team that sucked less on Sun won, and it was the Raiders

you'd think for a home game the skins woulda shown some heart

eric99gt 11-21-2005 08:07 PM

Listed your ticket on ebay? And you call yourself a fan? I went to the Eagles game this sunday full well knowing that our season is practically over. Hey at least they can suck together.

Metallman56 11-21-2005 08:58 PM

yeah what happend to the "were back" attitude you had at the begining of the season? it sucks when your luck runs out, and you cant pull wins out of your butt. sorry man.

99GApunk 11-21-2005 09:48 PM

nothing wrong with selling a ticket or two.

my father used to have season tickets for me and him to the pats back when they were nothing to watch at all. not many people went to every game, but the few of us that did, or watched every game do take a lot of pride in knowing we supported our team well before the rings and all the 'new' fans that think they are supposed to win every game every year... i remember (barely cuz i was very young) when a winning season was good enough

which reminds me, thanks drew bledsoe for saving the patriots

IanGT99 11-21-2005 11:44 PM

^^^ I'm a big proponent of being a true fan even when your team sucks. Just for an example's sake, the Eagles were great last year, and they're shot to hell this year. The true fans still love them. The bandwagon fans are running away. Just as with the Steelers for me. A few years ago, they were barely a .500 team. I was still a huge fan. Last year they were incredible. Still a huge fan. This year they have put their heads in their asses a few times. Still a huge fan. Just stay true to your team...

Cormaster 11-22-2005 01:05 AM

thats what sucks about Indianapolis... real fair weather fans around here. Right now You'd think we would live in Green Bay the excitement is so intense...but then again the Colts are also 10 - 0... If they were 0 - 10, everyone would be ripping on them and whining "man the colts suck, we should get a real team, get rid of them"...

Back in the 80's, early 90's the colts were like the Housten Texans of the NFL, and go figure, everyone in Indy hated them. They just made joke after joke, and ridiculed them to death. The same goes to show with the Indiana Pacers, which is sad since Indiana is said to be "the basketball state".

Fans here are ****ing me off allready because we need a new stadium, and everyone's whining about it. ITs going to open for the 2008 NFL season, grounds been broke on it, and a new 35 year lease with the colts has been signed, however when the talks were being worked out, People were allready complaining because its going to cause for maybe a penny or 2 more taxes on certain things, raised convienient store prices, etc, even ****ty govoner Mitch Daniels said "there's more important things to worry about than the colts getting a new stadium". But yeah the deal was finalized right after Peyton got the touchdown pass record last season... and people still bitched "well if they wanna leave town, F*** 'em let 'em leave town"

ITs a bunch of crap. As for me, my 2 favorite teams will always be the Indianapolis colts, and The Indiana Pacers. And to be honest, this state doesn't deserve either team.

Metallman56 11-22-2005 09:06 PM

^^ wow man your really ****ed off at indiana! i cant see why. peole up here love the colts win loose or draw. even when they suck 10 years ago people still pulled for em up here. if they win the super bowl i think your opinion will change. the super bowl win gives people alot more faith in there team to come back from a crappy season. and when a team sucks they should be ripped on a little.

as for me i have alaways been a huge bears fan. the bears last glory years was mostly before i can remember. so saying i am a faithful true fan might be an understatment. considering out of my 20 years they have sucked atleat 15 of them. we have our ''d'' now. and if we got a back as dangerous as payton was back in the 80s the ''o'' will really open up. i can only hope. but we look good this year. i was at the carolina game and i thought we were going to loose. i still went. i was wrong, and was more than happy to be at the game.

so who do we like on turkey day? i think vick will take out the lions. and denver will bring the cowboys back to earth. both away teams. i hate to call a atlanta game. they are by far the hardest team in the nfl to call a win or loose.

and go bears for the upset over tampa. well dont mark my words i havent made up my mind quite yet. but i am liken them.

Well, yeah them loosing did factor into it, but a lot of that had to do with the accident that I got into coming home from it lol
The traffic/parking situation down there is just getting unreal, and can makign going to the game a whole lot less fun than it should be

EDIT:
Also to add, I'm still going to the Dallas and Giants game ;)

ill take the cowboys and lions, the lions im not sure about, but definitely cowboys

Metallman56 11-23-2005 03:59 PM

we shall see. i hope your wrong about the lions. that would be better for my bears!

IanGT99 11-23-2005 11:19 PM

Atlanta over Detroit and Denver over Dallas.

99GApunk 11-24-2005 06:53 PM

0-2, **** you dallas. out of the office pool already

way to miss that goddamn field goal you douchebags!

Metallman56 11-24-2005 07:24 PM

sorry 99gapunk. you should have listend.

elim 11-24-2005 09:05 PM

you picked detroit!!! lol and don't blame dallas, blame just the kicker.he's not even worthy enough for me to look up his name.

bledsoe's interception for a touchdown didnt exactly win the game for dalles either tho :(

and i picked detroit, but not in my pool where it counts.

and the spread was 2.5, and dallas lost by 3 :scream:

IanGT99 11-24-2005 10:54 PM

lol lol lol

Shoulda listened to me, fellas... 2-0. They call me the Schwam in my football polls... hahaha!

Metallman56 11-25-2005 06:58 AM

likewise

MSJHWT 11-25-2005 07:15 AM

I had Bailey starting this week too (my league uses a Defense player), TD return was schweet

Cormaster 11-25-2005 11:13 AM

yeah, lol, Dallas would of won if they would of kicked that field goal. They messed up bad there, and it cost them the game.

IanGT99 11-25-2005 11:18 AM

^^^ Once again, THEY didn't miss the field goal. The KICKER missed the field goal. It looked like a good snap and a good hold, but he just muffed it. Ah well, though...Broncos are 9-2 and playing really well. Things are definitely looking interesting as far as the playoff picture...

99GApunk 11-25-2005 01:08 PM

its a team game, if they did a better job they wouldnt have even had to kick a field goal, if they played better at the start they would have won easily

all what ifs and yeah buts, the team gets the loss, not just the kicker

Metallman56 11-25-2005 01:42 PM

i agree, you win as a team and you loose as a team. its that simple.

RAMAIRGT1 11-25-2005 04:17 PM

as long as the cowgirls keep losing I'll be happy :D

Metallman56 11-25-2005 09:34 PM

^^ do you really think that nyg can beat seatle in sealte? i am going with no. sorry the giants will fall back to second after sunday. the good news is there still very alive for the playoffs. if they dont get in by winning the division, they will get a wildcard.

highwayprowlerz 11-25-2005 11:36 PM

Colts all the way.... 10 - 0 BABY!! Just my two cents. :)

As much as I'd love the Gnats to loose, I think they have a very real chance of beating the hawks.
Personally Seattle seems to have a fairly easy schedual, this'll be a test game for them, and if NY looses NFC East is all up for grabs again.

Metallman56 11-26-2005 07:18 AM

the seahawks seem to have an easy shedual because of there 6 divisional games. they have played jacksonville, atlanta, dallas, and washington. they lost to jacksonville, and wash but not by much. they also have to play the colts, and giants still. also philly but they suck now. anyway its not thier fault that there divison sucks.
