just fyi for anyone that my come threw the dan ryan going to the meet the lane will be reduced starting friday so they can start construction. i doubt anyone will go threw there but just incase expect lots of traffic

alex, ill have a few friends along, one or two might need a room, ill get an exact count tomorrow on who's coming and get back to ya if you're interested, all good guys and a few over 21... :)

Joe, if the traffic will be heavier, do you still think it will be faster than the regular lanes? I figure if we go in it we stay on the outside two lanes and should be pretty well, people on the outter most can let inner cars in for the exit.

well 1st off i dont know why anyone would end up on the ryan but to my knowlege they are closing the express lanes and only the locals will be open so lane choice sucks basically if ur on the ryan ur screwed no matter what

o, i thought you said they were closing a few lanes on the ryan and not all of them, my bad.

they are the ryan is split it has express lanes that only have a few exits and then locals that have every exit there closing the express lanes so it will pack the locals even worse than before plus truck are only allowed in the locals so now u gotta ride with them so the ryan is gunna suck till 2007

o, my understanding was that the express lanes were called the dan ryan, not all of it, thats how i got confused. whups..all of my mapquests only referred to those express lanes as dan ryan expy, and never called the whole system (locals include) dan ryan, thats how i got confused. thanks for the clarification, i guess we'll be getting there a bit after 2 then..

All I know is, it's almost 55 and sunny here right now. Hopefully the weather gods save more of this for Saturday.

What kind of directions do we need to get from the hotel to Busse Woods?

Also, what's a location I can mapquest to meet up at in Chicago? Maybe ESPNZone? Use that address for mapquest from the hotel to there? I can't imagine its going to be any longer than 45 minutes away.

I dont know about printed directions from one to the other, I can get some tonight when I get off of work if somebody else doesnt.

But the plan is to meet at busse then the hotel people will go with me to claim their rooms,all unclaimed rooms will be gone after 6, so you'll see the route when we do that.

To be honest, I think claiming the rooms first would be alot easier. It would make alot more sense to go to the hotel, get rid of our stuff.

I can't speak for the entire Michigan carvan but I plan on being at the hotel at 1 p.m. Central Time. Drop my stuff off, then cruise down to Busse. Judging on my experience with everyone in the past wanting to have fun and be carefree, thats the last thing I wanna worry about is my room and luggage.

Also, we'll be using Two-Ways on ch. 10.

Basically, as I temp forgot, the park is located just off of Higgins Rd...and the hotel is located on higgins as well. So I dont think there will be any problems.

Yeah it seems like its only 20 minutes East of the hotel. Can't be that hard to find. But now its up to the IL crew to find out where exactly in the park we're meeting. Because i'm sure it'll be one specific spot in the huge park.

uhh, i think its the parking lot just off of higgins, iirc there's only one lot on that edge of the park. i know we have that somewhere.

My question is, if you're meeting at 1pm, what is going to be planned throughout the whole day? Besides checking/talking about cars and throwin some footballs around, and eating, whatelse do you guys have planned?

I am willing to bet about 99% of the people going wouldnt mind setting up some type of cruise. Why dont you guys do that? Where would you go?

Also, at night, are you guys going to a 18+ club? Staying at the hotel? Going to streets of woodfield? I'm just trying to make the people from out of state feel like they're coming here with things to do as oppose to sitting in a parking lot for 8 hrs and calling it a night.

here is my question, might be a dumb one and i think i know the answer, but is there a power outlet in this parking lot? if so i will bring my bat charger and just leave my car on the whole time. remember i have never been there so please try not to criticize me too bad.

actually all that is TBD when we get there, cuz i don't know what the hell is around, or where is a good place to cruise or eat. And even if people told me right now "oh yea, this is a good place, do this etc" I would have no idea what they are talking about.
Plus being there at 1 allows for more plans to go into effect as we are there in the park.

Alex, I did read the first page. All of those things were basically my ideas from the start. The thing is, those are tentative ideas. Nothing is set in stone. I think something should be set in stone. I can see you guys all meeting up and then asking eachother, "ok so what do we want to do?" I think a main plan of events should be posted here so you all know exactly what you're going to be doing.

Maybe I am looking into it too much, but I am a very organized person and just think that maybe it should be organized a little better with a proper agenda. lol I dont know, dont listen to me. lol

hmm, if not might be possible to use my power inverter? iirc (its not with me at school) its a 600w peak. just trade off running cars, use half the gas, and keep one car powered off of the other at all times.




annnd as far as last details, ive done as much as i can from out of state. like alex said, its the locals that should do, if at all, the final "set in stone" details as they know the places and attractions in the area. a cruise would def. be fun, as well as making fun of half painted "pimped" cars if there are any, heh. (always a favorite passtime)
