Anyways, car is prepped and ready to rock. Tape and primer/sealer stuff tomorrow and possibly paint late afternoon. If not, Wednesday morning. MAYBE I'll put some pics up then- however, I go on vacation on Thursday so we're going to let the car sit and dry until I go back Monday. Plus I need to clean everything else and make it look decent to take pictures of.

Here's the only thing new for today...

SikMindz 04-24-2006 06:51 PM

AFAIK, there were only 2 real CF arrowheads made. This is one of them and I don't know who the other got sold to. www.signsbydrex.com makes something similar but vinyl/simulated CF just isn't the same I've learned...

mr_eh 04-24-2006 08:44 PM

i still have my carbon fiber arrowhead, which im willing to part with...

SikMindz 04-24-2006 09:08 PM

I was thinking the same as Paul, where can I buy one (real CF).

That arrowhead looks sweet!

Umm...please refer to like the last 20 or so odd pictures that I posted. You can pretty much answer your own question. :applause:

Factoring in the increased aerodynamics now that there's a clearcoat, the degree of ****-ness since the BRIGHT orange is PAINTED on and not vinyl, and the removal of yellow calipers/drums and wire loom...I'd say I'd be good for a 15.4 or 15.5 soon.

How about you Panacea? If you took out the folding wheelchair, case of Ensure and didn't bring along the 20 black cats you may own, what do you think your Buick Lacrosse could run? :angel

ViperGTSR 04-26-2006 10:28 AM

ENSURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that **** MADE that post

Exodus 04-26-2006 12:12 PM

Quip yapping and get to work sik, I wanna see pix.

OT- anyone know where the name Pontiac originates from and why they use the arrow-head design for their logo?

Brendon 04-26-2006 12:14 PM

I believe Pontiac was an Indian tribe or chief in the mid east? That would probably explain the arrowhead too?

Ajaxus 04-26-2006 12:15 PM

http://www.mce.k12tn.net/indians/famous/pontiac.htm

Layman's terms on who Pontiac was...

ViperGTSR 04-26-2006 12:47 PM

Its a Michigan Thing. Big Ottawa tribe in Michigan. Pontiac, MI

wewt

Pontiac Ninja 04-26-2006 01:34 PM

definitely has to do with an indian tribe. I remember some like motorcycles also with the indian emblem and pontiac name. at least I think I do. I may google that.

caraudiodave 04-26-2006 01:48 PM

wow i just shat my pants laughing so hard at this thread. you guys crack me up, especially mr brendan...

Exodus 04-26-2006 01:56 PM

Pontiac (Native American chief) (1720?-1769), chief of the Ottawa people and leader of the confederate tribes of the Ohio Valley and Lake Region against the British in 1763-1765. He distinguished himself in the French service at an early age and is said to have led the warriors of his own tribe against the British army officer Edward Braddock in 1755. With the object of driving the British from their frontier possessions and reestablishing Native American autonomy, Pontiac organized a confederacy that embraced virtually all the tribes from the head of Lake Superior almost to the Gulf of Mexico. According to the arrangement the warriors of each tribe, on a concerted day, early in May 1763, were to attack the garrison in their immediate neighborhood. Pontiac himself was to lead the assault at Detroit.

In the great wilderness extending from the Pennsylvania frontier to Lake Superior were 14 British posts, of which the most important were Fort Pitt, Detroit, and Mackinaw. The Native Americans captured all but four of the posts, Niagara, Pitt, Ligonier, and Detroit. Mackinaw was taken by a stratagem, and the entire garrison was killed. A plot for the capture of Detroit seems to have been betrayed to the commanding officer by a Native American woman, and failed, but Pontiac at once began a siege that lasted for five months. Reinforcements finally succeeded in entering Detroit; Pontiac's men began to desert him, and the news of the signing of a peace treaty between France and Great Britain removed all hopes of French aid. Pontiac thereupon raised the siege and on August 17, 1765, entered into a formal peace treaty, which he confirmed at Oswego in 1766. Three years later he was murdered by a member of the Illinois tribe

On topic, off topic, on topic, off topic...sheesh. Weirdest thread I started ever. So this is all you guys get until Monday when I get back from vacation:

The colors are Silvermist metallic, Sunburst Orange metallic, Spectre Gray metallic and of course carbon fiber. I still need to wet sand, buff and polish some runs in the clear coat but hopefully I can get everything reinstalled and done by Wednesday. I would've pulled off the rest of the masking, however the pics were right after shooting and it was already 10:45PM. I wasn't about to wait any longer for it to dry.

Discuss.

in the last picture you posted...

looks like it has a lot of imperfections in the clear coat, where the orange is at.. might be trash in the clear, might be just dust on top that will just come off, or it could just be the picture

mr_eh 04-27-2006 02:30 PM
