Sorry, to hear.

I now sound like a douche bag, with my earlier post.

Sorry...

lvemy3100 07-07-2007 05:47 AM

damn you AJ... j/p I hope things work out...

well as I stated in the past I will be doing all of this no matter what ....

even if no one else shows....

Ajaxus 07-07-2007 05:48 AM

It's alright, I know you were just messing.

It just seems that right now, my bro cares more about petty friendships than family...so he can see how he likes being cut off from the brother that used to go out of his way to defend him and help him through rough times and compare it to the two friends he's keeping that think its fun to rag on others 24/7. Should be interesting to see how long he lasts.

Sorry mark, if I can work through this fast then I can make it, but right now this comes first in my life, the meet second.

its all good man.. I totally understand the situation... family should always come first...

Ajaxus 07-07-2007 06:37 AM

Yeh, I just wrote a big apology out to my friends and brother, sometimes when you know the cards you're holding are the right cards you still have to fold your hand if it means a better outcome to the game...I hate apologies but I made one, hopefully I can scrape something decent out of this.

Ajaxus 07-07-2007 01:43 PM

well things with my friends are working out, i think my bro will come around in time and realise whats really up. sooooooooo, i might be back on for the meet.

iceman 07-07-2007 11:21 PM

How'd I miss this thread? I need to get some more fireworks in Ohio.. and I'm off the 4 days before and after this... hmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Is O'hare relatively close to this stuff? Flying to Chicago's cheap for me

cardude007617 07-07-2007 11:53 PM

yeah its not that bad really......i dont know how you;d get around and taxi fares add up

silvergtjrad 07-07-2007 11:57 PM

Ohare is pretty damn close, roughly a half hour south of where the events will be held.

lone_wolf025 07-08-2007 12:30 AM

Yea its somewhat close... Figure 30-40 miles north to Mark's place, and another 15-20 miles to the track from there.

woot... the more the merrier...

o'hare isnt that far from here (as mentioned above) but the main thing is transportation... i havent done it in a long time but I am pretty sure that you can still train hop your way up here right from the airport and one of us could pick you up from the station..

just let us know

GTgoddess 07-08-2007 07:28 AM

have no fear....I is here. lol

the 21st is the Swing Crew/Blarneygra party on the Chain O' Lakes. Nothin' but Boats, Booze, Boobies, Beads, and Babes (and dudes and water, but that didn't fit in.) So that day, is where I will be getting my drink on at the sandbar.

I will probably shoot out there on Friday and Sunday (sunday depending on how hung over I am).

So I will see you boys on the 20th then =)

Iowagdam 07-08-2007 10:15 AM

I had some time last night to think about the contests and though we gotta get some rules down
So here goes, add anything that you think I missed;
Judges
- 3 people that are not registered in the class that they are judging in.
- Must have high credit (senior member)
- Cannot be bribed with anything (food, drink, money)
- Must be randomly choosen from a hat at least 5 minutes before judging time
- Judging is a optional, if your choosen and don't want to judge please choose someone that can fill your spot
Big Contest
"Cleanest" Car (clean in appearance or just not dirty)
- Thou must have at least washed or waxed or polished there car
- Thou must not have the following on, or in your paint;
-dirt, mud, dust, bugs, tar, stains, rubber, etc.
- Five minutes before judging, hands and any other cleaning device is off the car

Best Sound System
- Contestants will play 3 tracks that are picked out by the judges beforehand
- These 3 tracks will test the three parts of the car's audio- the tweeters, the mids and the subs.
- For pure sound competition, 1 track will be picked out beforehand and played by the judge.
- Five minutes before competition, owners must stop tweeking.

Best Overall Car
- This is up for grabs, it could be a group vote, or it could be a 3 judges vote.
- Criteria for best overall car would be looks, performance, sound system and presentation.
Best Show Mods
- Mods must be done before judging and must be organized into the following groups, All SHOW, ALL GO, and Highest quality
Fastest Car
-Again, up for grabs. Could be an "overall" fast car or a bracket competition.

Bragging rights
-We could do this with a group vote or a judges vote.

Cleanest Engine bay
- You have to eat off the top of your engine
Biggest bug on your windshield
- Must verify size, squash pattern and damage
Longest Burnout
- Who want's to get new tires?
Smooth as a baby's butt
- By running your finger along the car (not recommended for cleanest car contest)
Best Rims
- Based on style, look, bling bling, and proportions (no friggin 30"s)
Best interior mods
- Based on style, bling bling, and technological factors
Best bad odor
- Smell test of seats, matts and trunk
Slowest Car
- Slowest one at the track
Dirtiest Car
- Well, you know.
If you want to add something, be my guest. If there is something missing, ADD it.

lone_wolf025 07-08-2007 10:52 AM

Excellent job! I concur with your assessment.

Ajaxus 07-08-2007 11:23 AM

seth, if you need a ride we could probably set something up, ill be swinging past ohare on my way up

and yes, im coming, worked through my family issues fairly quickly. :)

Malibu Glow 07-08-2007 11:46 AM

I guess since I won't be able to come up to the drag racing on Friday I could be a judge if your having some of the contests on Saturday, since mine's not worthy to be in any of them at this time. I will be there for Saturday and Sunday, may end up leaving by Noon though on Sunday cause I don't know until the Friday before the weekend where I'm to deliver on Monday.

I didn't read through everything, but it sounds like it's starting Friday the 20th. In Chicago or something. As long as I've got a place to sleep, I'll plan on making it out. I'll have a long drive though.... 6 hours ;crap

As do I.

About 10-hours for me (assuming I don't get lost or get delayed too much due to traffic/ construction/ or the border crossing).
854 km / 531 miles.

But I am also going down to hang in Chicago area for 1.5-weeks.

So people from areas not of Chicago, bring in stuff that is not available locally in the Chicago market.

Or anything else, people want that they do not have in the Chicago area.

PS: & I mean the good stuff.
Not crap lol

This coming from a guy that doesn't drink anymore lol

Edit-

Since we'll be at the lake I assume we'll be BBQ'n. I'd be happy to bring some brauts and bugers. Anyone else bringing stuff?

I will bring a case of 24 Sleeman Cream Ale or a couple (12-pack) of Sleeman Selections (sample pack): 4 Cream Ale, 4 Honey Brown and 4 Original Draught.

cardude007617 07-09-2007 01:39 PM

i like the maybe haha. sounds good, i might just show up for the show....

Ajaxus 07-09-2007 02:47 PM

like i said in the pm, depending on the cost of the sleeman selection, i might take a case home with me.

i wont have that nit wit wheat i mentioned, but i will be bringing some Bitchin Betty which is made by another local brewery, its a Citrus Wheat Beer. and mighty tastey :)

Malibu Glow 07-09-2007 09:36 PM

I'll have to travel light on the way up, I owe someone a front bumper and some tools left behind from a meet I had at my place last year, hint hint...

Me either Mike. It's all good.

I'm probably going to be leaving really early Friday morning, so plan on me arriving mid-day Friday. I will need a place to stay Friday and Saturday night.

5-lO 07-11-2007 12:57 AM

Matt you are welcome to crash in E-town if you wish. Not the same place as before, I moved. But yeah, just let me know.

I may be in for saturday night, or Sunday if anything goes down, but thats really all I am open as my hours suck ass. I hate my job.

So I would say plan on me for the cruise. Are bikes allowed? Id rather ride than drive. Gas mileage and such.

Ajaxus 07-11-2007 01:24 AM

I don't have an issue if you ride the bike, we certainly can't say n-body's only in your case now, can we? lol
