How in the hell can you tune this thing, though, floor it anywhere under 30 mph and it burns the street tires..... grams/cylinder timing/KR tables are already maxed out at 0.92, and I still haven't uncorked it yet, still got the filter on... No wonder these things are blowing up. lol |

I totally understand. You can't really do a WOT first gear pull on the street. It's even hard at the drag strip with the wheel spin and all. First gear goes so fast though that it isn't the best for scanning and getting info anyway. You are pulling in second and third gear longer so they get more data points. Topping out either gear will make you break the speed limit even on the freeway though. :( Best thing I think is a combination of tuning done from second gear pulls on the freeway and third gear on the dyno. You can top out third on the dyno and get a lot of data with high resolution for each rpm point. Second gear tops out around 80mph if you have a raised rev limiter and you can do that on the freeway without getting in trouble if you're careful. I like to do it at night in an area where traffic is light, and that way I can get data with the car under driving load that you can't get on the dyno. |

AaronGTR summed it up nicely. You need well-rounded conditions to get a proper tune. That's why I usually tune from the dig all the way through 3rd at WOT. but then again, I've got DOT DR's for a little grab. |
I had a low traffic 4-lane that was being built very close to my house. ;) Bad thing was being capable of spinning 1st, 2nd, and chirping 3rd gear. Street tires will not last you long at all. And please, be sure they at least have a speed rating you will be seeing ;)
