Earlier this past week i saw a Red G8 GT, must have been dealer traded it was on the Highway with window stickers and all..
Caught me outta the corner of my eye. First i though it was a GTO (due to the Hood) then i saw the rest of it. Almost wrecked looking at it. Good lookin ride.

Saw a couple of these at the NY Auto show saturday, very nice cars, and comfortable interior.

Hell, even the truck version looked way better in person than it does in pictures.

I saw a optioned out black G8 GT yesterday at my local Pontiac dealership. I must say it looks better in person than in pics (and I thought the pics looked damn nice)!! I thought the interior was very nice for the price.
Even though MT bashed on the electronics, I thought the Blaupunkt (sp?) stereo display was very crisp and nice (it had the 11 speaker, amp, sub option). Can't wait to test drive one!

word is GM Pontiac is working on implementing navigation for sometime in '09. The car really needs it, then it can fully compete with BMW.

^ Agreed, the huge screen on the premium radio is obviously meant for navi, but GM was too cheap to get it ready for launch.

The lack of navigation across the board at GM is something they need to fix now. Not having navigation as an option in the mid size cars is crazy this day in age. Even the Cobalt/G5 should have it by now.

not a true representation, that was at ATCO and this car has a retuned ECM. Seth and a couple other Philly area people here LOVE ATCO because it is an extremely fast track and fairly well taken care of. Reality of the place though is it is not representative of real world or other tracks. So the car is realistically probably about 13.5 or 13.6 with no tune at a normal track. Still a good job. GXP should be around 13.0 with a tune.

what's so sarcastic? If you think a G8 cannot hang with a 5-series, then you haven't compared the vehicles that well. G8 (if it has Nav) beats the 5-series in almost ever category but "what does the nameplate say" and "what's more expensive"

I'll reserve judgement till I get in a G8. As much as I loved the GTO interior it still ain't a BMW. Two totally different segments as well- you're not going to convince a BMW owner to buy a Pontiact. BMW => Cadillac possibly but please; BMW to Pontiac. As much as I love both it's kind of ridiculous.

It's not a true Pontiac though. Just like the GTO wasn't either.

And besides. You're the one that hated the G8 interior and said it doesn't compare to the GTO.

Lastly, how many consumers are going to care where it's from?? It's badged as a Pontiac here and in peoples minds that right there is a bad thing.

I don't like my GTO more than the GA. I think it is a better car, but as far as caring for it, they are equal. And I don't hate the G8 interior, I feel as though GM took the cheap route on a few things as opposed to the GTO where they kept all of Holden's materials intact. I haven't sat in one, but I'm willing to bet the G8 interior is still better than 95% of GMs other vehicles.

I'll have to go and check one out. Maybe I'll get better service too this time rollin' in the 5. Bastards barely even greeted me at the Pontiac, GMC or Caddy dealership when I pulled up in the GA. All 3 customer service reps called me post visit and I lambasted all the salesmen by name.

I have seen the spyhunter commercial on tv a couple times now, but not the BMW comparison one, but Im sure it has layed somewhere at some time.

The "Woodward GTO". It was a concept special version GTO made for the Woodward Dream Cruise a couple years ago.

I kinda guessed what it was, just giving you GTO people some crap cause so many people say it looks like a Cavalier (not offensive @ least not to me for obvious reasons).

GTO is a nice car. Thanks for the specific info on this one as at least I didn't know.

went and checked one of these out today. definitily worth seeing in person. so mean looking. they also had a g6 gxp with everything for the same price as the base G8 GT. dont know why anyone would buy that now.
