Replacement DVC speakers for 02 GAGT
I have a 2002 GAGT with blown speakers in the rear. My car is equipped with the Monsoon amp that makes upgrades a nightmare sometimes. I am wondering what solution others have come up with since I would like to keep the factory head unit and avoid rewiring.

Does any company sell Dual Voice Coil speakers such that there are 4 connections per speaker?

Proper term is bi-wire or bi-amp type speaker
Look for speakers (6x9's) that are either bi-amp or bi-wire. Dual voice coil may be mistaken for a type of woofer that have dual voice coils. The factory speakers have their tweeters and main drivers wired separately since the monsoon amp is a bi-amp type of an amp.
You can if you want, bypass the amp which is in the left side panel of the trunk,
and wire the new speakers normally. The amp is about 4" x 6" and is not very powerful but you will be going down in power that way.
Good luck.

Juneau, I have the same car with the same problem. What speakers have you found for direct replacement. I have found the soundstream sst6.9 to be reasonably priced.

Long delay in rechecking this thread, the speakers I found ended up not working. Lately I have been using crazy glue to patch the diaphragm as it breaks off the cone. This summer I am replacing the carpet in my GAGT and will be rewiring my car for an aftermarket DVD player that should fit in my double din space. All the original wiring will be maintained too. Its just going to be easier in the end this way. Bi-Wire in theory are great, in actuality they are terrible to work with.

I just bought a pair of sony xplodes to replace the factory monsoon's all i did was just cut the wireing harness off the monsoon's traced the low side going into the woofer of the monsoon and presto a pair of 6x9's that sound pretty good on the monsoon amp. Also before anyone start's hating i know 6x9's are not sub's ( duhh ) my system is just to listen to my day's of having a decked out system are over as i have a 3yr old daughter and a fiancée the require that trunk space.
