Start searching craigslist for wheels actually worth having.

He said he can only keep two sets meaning he probably has both styles. And will get new rims to replace one of those.

Exactly! I would put my regular tires on my new rims and snow tires on my own rims. If I had to keep 1 set, which should I keep?

tipnitty 11-03-2013 08:12 PM

and we say, throw both sets away.

Get GT wheels for winter and nice set of 18's for the summer.

No point in spending money to get a set of stock GT wheels just to put snow tires on if he already has another set of wheels.

I would keep the second choice for winter and get rid of the others. That first wheel is downright ugly.

sleepyalero 11-03-2013 08:37 PM

okay... what does it matter about what set of wheels he keeps? the summer will be replaced with a NICE set of wheels. and the winter wheels are well... for winter. who cares if they look like sht. they are meant to keep the other set nice. look at brendans wheels he had on for winter. look like complete crap. (no offense) but hey. better then ruining a nice set of wheels in the end.

Shade2012 11-04-2013 10:33 AM

Keep the second set for winter.

/end

Stock hood back on for winter. It hasn't worn this in a loooong time. Looks weird. lol

Also ordered a set of winter tires to get ready for the snow and ice. 215/55-17 Goodyear ultra-grip ice wrt's. Went a little taller and narrower than stock on purpose to give me some more ground clearance in the snow. I need it with my normal ride height.

Tried ordering some rubber floor mats as well to keep the snow out of my carpet. Macneil automotive sells those weathertech floor mats you see ads for in every magazine. They listed some for the grand am so I gave them a try... save your money. :/ They aren't specifically made and fit for the grand am. I received a set of mats for a 94-01 acura integra, and they said "yeah that's the size, they fit your car too". No, they don't actually. They fit like crap. Was looking at the husky floor liners on PFYC, but they don't look like they are the right shape either. It's hard to tell from the pic. The drivers side one looks like it might have a little bit of curve in it to follow the shape of the center tunnel. Not sure what I'm gonna try.

I got some boat carpet and put under the floor mats I used. All the rubber floor mats I have purchased have leaked on to the carpet.

Side note, I think the car looks a lot better with the stock hood on there. It is more sleek and clean looking IMO
