So like the first pic? That is by far the best thing unless you have a great shop.

Random question Gene, would you be willing to take a picture of your front tires and rear tires side by side to get a tread width comparison? I'm starting to get intrigued with 255/35 tires, would fit my wider stance better since I have spacers and go overkill with 255/35/18 Michelin super sports .

Whenever you get a chance.

Do you want an off the car comparison? or on the car?

I will be pulling the tires off to replace my power steering rack soon, maybe even tomorrow so taking them off is not a problem.

If you could get a good rear picture to show the width of the 255's on the car and then off the car side by side that would be helpful

ok I will get the side/rear on car pic right now, then when I get them off the car I will take them.

Oh and I have run the 255/35/18's up front as well no fitment problems I will be going with all 4 255/35/18's soon.

I would love to see an aggressive, 9" wide wheel pulled off on a GAGT someday...

TruGreenGAGT 12-17-2013 10:08 AM

yeah they look like 3-4 inch driving lights you can get from any FLAPS

2000 GT Coupe 12-17-2013 10:22 AM

They are driving lights, I bought them from wal mart in 09 but they dont carry those any longer.

Quick question about my truck. I'm new to trucks, so bare with me. Is it possible that just the slip yoke broke and I could replace that and the ujoint and be good to go? I'm really not believing this dealership telling me that the rear end seized up and I"m needing a new driveshaft and rear end. Doing some research here and there leads me to believe that this is the only problem..

yes the yoke could have just broke, though even just that is a big problem, you have to pull the ring gear out and the gear the rest of the yoke is connected too.
It should be a whole lot smaller job then replacing the entire diff housing and cheaper though.

At that im second guessing my self on if the ring gear has to come out or if the shaft can slip by it.

The best thing you can do is pull the rear diff cover and see the shape of the gears, have someone that you trust, and knows what they are looking at, see if any of the gears are broken, or the axle shafts twisted off.

If the diff did lock up at 60+ you would have felt the rear lock up even if all it did was cause a jolt through the truck it breaking free and rolling again could be the result of gears or axles twisting off.

TruGreenGAGT 12-17-2013 10:35 AM

jack up the rear end so the tires aren't touching the ground and spin the tire, other tire should also spin and have someone look at where the part broke that should spin... if all does i would say nothing is seized
