Here she is. My first car. It's hard to believe that it was only 10 years old when I bought it. My GA is already almost 14. Unfortunately this is the only pic I can find of her. (before smart phones and digital cameras)

No better paint protection protection than a solid layer of ice over the entire car!

jeez that must be hard to drive on if you dont have abs.

Oh and thanks TDavis, thats why I continued to stagger the first time it was because I needed tires "yesterday" and the only thing I could get was a staggered set up from someone that was putting on new tires. But after putting on the beefier sway bars I put the 255's up front to see if they would rub, they did not so I am going to get 2 more 255's and run all 255. |
So im not really missing out on anything beneficial?

My 92 SVX has a better system (barely) one thing it does better is ( I believe) true 4 channel abs, the grand am is (I believe) only 3 channel, right front/left front, and one Rear. |
Ice driving is best done like this:
Don't unless absolutely necessary. But if you're out, SMOOTH. Easy on, easy off, don't jump in and out of the peddle, ease into starts, and ease off the gas (early, early, early before you need to stop) and ease on that brake peddle like it's an egg you can't smash. easy does it, and makes it somewhat easy to drive on, if you're a peddle smasher, you'll be an ice crasher lol |
just a quick little idle vid after the headers. video doesnt really do this noise any justice though

I like dual tips, quads dont look quite right to me. lol
So what happened with the genesis? Or am I thinking of the wrong person? |

can't blame him though. who doesn't want a vette? and who actually can afford a vette before they turn 25? |

Quad tips look 100x better on the vette... duals just don't look right in that small space and that far apart.

So on in a yet-to-be-announced area on CL, found a set of 4 AT Italias wrapped with Perelli P Zeros... $450 and said he'd ship / meet, I'm waiting to hear back with some more info. but I'm always nervous about buying discontinued rims, the Italias are by far my favorite look for the GA, but let me get your opinions on repairability should they get damaged (dents, curb rash, chips), ect.) outside of cracking if half, are repairs like this possible?

Nope, it's 2 channel ABS, Front/rear. There are only two abs solenoids on the module. I highly doubt your svx has 4 channel though. They didn't have that around even in '92. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the ABS or traction control on the grand am. Are they as good as more modern systems? No. They are still better than most drivers though. The real limiting factor in freezing rain is tires. You need winter tires and even then traction will be limited, but better than with all seasons. In those kind of ice conditions though, NO abs or traction/stability control system will help, no matter how advanced they are. It all comes down to tires. |

I agree. He didn't buy a real exhaust though. He modded the stock cat-back by cutting off the mufflers and welding on a straight pipe. Also cut the cats off. Definitely not a good way to do it IMO, but it's his car. |
