Nope, it's 2 channel ABS, Front/rear. There are only two abs solenoids on the module. I highly doubt your svx has 4 channel though. They didn't have that around even in '92.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the ABS or traction control on the grand am. Are they as good as more modern systems? No. They are still better than most drivers though. The real limiting factor in freezing rain is tires. You need winter tires and even then traction will be limited, but better than with all seasons. In those kind of ice conditions though, NO abs or traction/stability control system will help, no matter how advanced they are. It all comes down to tires.

Thanks for the heads up on the grand am abs.

This is from a svx forum, it is from subaru buyers guide, I think.

Quote:

ABS are interconnected through "the ABS computer": 'Each wheel is equippmed with its own speed sensor and control valve [4 channel ABS]. The data obtained from each wheel is processed by the ABS computer, which then issues independent braking control instructions for the front, and rear wheels simultaneously. At the same time, control is exercised over the E-4AT and VTD-4WD systems. When the ABS is activated, the gearbox changes back to 3rd gear, torque is distributed to maintain an optimum balance between the front and rear wheels, ensuring running stability even in low "mu" conditions such as ice covered road.'
Even though it says 4 channel I see them talking front and rear so maybe its like the grand am.

But I will say this abs is (marginally) better on the svx

This. :applause:

But hey, that's what happens when you take a cat out and get a crappy exhaust. I'm not even happy with my exhaust right now and I've got the SLP. I think the muffler packing is starting to deteriorate. It's plenty loud, but has too much rattle. Doesn't sound refined at all. I want to change the muffler and tips.

I'm interested in getting the 2.5" DP from Milzy with the Highflow Magnaflow cat since I hear that stock is a really restrictive part of the exhaust flow but I'm afraid it might ruin the sound of the Borla. I'm very picky with my exhaust notes.

mfuller has the TOG headers with the borla, 2.5" DP, with the highflow cat and he had a video around here somewhere that I can't find.

Only vids I can find are ones with a cat delete or mainly a resonator delete which I never plan on doing.

I agree. He didn't buy a real exhaust though. He modded the stock cat-back by cutting off the mufflers and welding on a straight pipe. Also cut the cats off. Definitely not a good way to do it IMO, but it's his car.

We ARE talking about David here lol. he's not about to let my fat slow sedan be louder than his vette. i looked under his c5 and other than the axlebacks and headers, there weren't any curves or bends in the stock pipes. so i didn't see the point in buying brand new whole exhaust system either. any aftermarket setup would have the same bends anyways.

also, he does take his to the strip, so there was a performance motivation, not just noise motivation. i'm the only idiot here that runs straight pipes just for the sake of noise.

That vid of mfuller your talking about he has milzy headers.. don't know what downpipe... and its with bola exhaust. Tog/s&s headers do not clear 6 speed shift linkage.

As for downpipe... I have milzy no cat downpipe. It's very nice.
