That would be the "barrel" of the wheel, or the hoop. ;)

Register your car in a different state.

Not possible. Registration has to match your address of residence and drivers license. Only time that sometimes works is when you are in the military or going to school out of state. Why would I want to do that anyway. I don't really want the side windows tint anyhow because I like being able to see out them. ;)

TDavis 04-10-2014 08:49 AM

People always use that excuse about wanting to see outside there windows but its really not that hard unless you're a old 70 year old grandpa. Even then its not hard. Worse comes to worse just roll them down to back up.

My dad is 54 and he has 5% on his back window and 20% on his sides on his truck and sees fine.

TruGreenGAGT 04-10-2014 08:50 AM

Also depends on the lighting conditions around were you back up

sleepyalero 04-10-2014 09:33 AM

Alot of people will think some is to dark then they grow used to the tint.

I grew up with my dad who had 15% or less on all his trucks. So I got used to dark tint young. Got 20 on mine when I got my car and havent had issues.

Well I don't care who you are. You said you would double up on 5% if you could, thats just plain dumb, since you claim you mainly drive your car at night, that would just be adding insult to injury.

Pitch black when I'm backing up near my house and My lower reverse lights help me see and curb and I can see the curb fine with them through the 20% tint.

I'm thinking about tinting the rear window and rear side windows, but I want as light as possible because I have a hard time seeing out tinted windows at night. I don't even care for the tinted look that much. Mainly I want to keep the heat down and make it harder for people to see into my car and see anything I might have in there.

There are so many people that have tint down there I am sure they wouldn't hassle you. My sister puts 18% on all of her vehicles and she hasn't been stopped for it and she has been tinting them for over 10 years. She live on 23 mile.

Run over to darkside on 23mile and Hayes (IIRC) and see if he has any polarized window tint. It keeps it hard to see in but improves your ability to see out. Just like polarized sunglasses. It is pricey but worth it if you have a hard time seeing through tint.

I will only have him tint my vehicles, the people up here are shady and use cheap products and charge you high end prices for them.

TruGreenGAGT 04-10-2014 10:06 AM

I put 2.5% on a buddies car once... that shiit is dark

Whatever man. Everyone is different. Everyone has different vision characteristics. I drove someone's car once that had dark tint on the rear and sides, and I kept seeing reflections on the inside of the windows and my eyes wanted to focus on those and not the very dim light coming through from outside. Was a major problem for me, and yes I had to roll the windows down to see out. That's stupid IMO to have to do that, and I don't want to deal with it. My priority, K thnx. ;)

It's probably different depending on where you are. My mom had very light tint on the side windows of her mini (almost looked like factory) and she got pulled over around here and got a fix it ticket and told to remove the tint from her windows. I remember way back in the day one of the girls in a car club I was in had tint on the side windows of her accord and she got pulled over in Sterling Hts. for it and had to remove it.

Like I said I just don't want to deal with that and don't want tint on my front/side windows anyway. Thanks for the tip on the polarizing though, I'll look into that. I really wish I could get the 3M crystaline tint but that stuff is super expensive and most shops don't carry it. I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more for something better though.
